ASTRID's POV
I slowly turned my around and saw Jayden standing behind Mateo and me.
"Mummy.. What are you.. What is happening here, mummy?"
I swallowed hard and then turned to glance at Mateo. Almost at once, he fell to the ground and I screamed.
"Mateo, what is wrong with you? Hey!" I yelled with total panic in my voice.
It was only when he winked at me that I immediately understood what he was doing. Jayden ran towards us, looking frightened. Putting on my best act, I pulled Mateo back to his feet and he lazily looked at Jayden.
"Your mummy was just helping me, okay? I almost slipped just like now, and you know how nice your mummy is, right?"
Jayden nodded and smiled. I couldn't help but be touched by his belief in me even though we were lying straight to his face.
