CHAPTER 15 SABRINA The slight smell of burning rubber and the Audi’s leather seats invade my senses, as Lachlan maneuvers through the New York streets, operating his Audi at even faster speeds. "What's happening?" I ask, my hands gripping the dashboard. I can feel myself turning blue. "I'm not sure yet," he tells me, his knuckles white against the wheel. "Lach...wait," I say again, shaking even more than I was a moment before. My teeth chatter, and my dry tongue sticks to the roof of my mouth. I try to speak but all that comes out is a small croak. The car moves closer, stopping a good distance behind us. It’s a bad-ass-looking black sedan. One that looks like it was a police car in another lifetime. Its lights flash on and off, and I can actually see the markings on both sides of it
