I woke up in a panic, looking around my room for Maliki. I realized he had left and laid back down. When I checked the time, I realized it was time to get up for school anyway. I got up and got ready. I won't lie, I was actually looking forward to the day. I ran downstairs to the kitchen to grab something to eat before leaving. Jeeves had made pancakes, so I grabbed two, then headed out the front door. Maliki was headed my way. I waved at him with my empty hand while eating a pancake with my other hand. Phoenix full sprinted to Maliki and jumped at him, nearly knocking him over.
"Seriously Phoenix!" I shouted at her.
