Chapter 3Bass phoned Millie Puchow the next morning. She was a pleasant sounding, older woman, and he set up an appointment for the following day. He also phoned Shawn Morton, the next name on the list. They would meet later that day. His partner came in shortly after the conversation had concluded. “I thought Hodgins was working the North Avenue case?” Bass asked. “He is. I was on Fifth Street,” Macky replied. “A couch was torched. Curbside.
