Chapter 2

The two made it up to the living room to find everyone already there which made things a lot easier for the couple. It wasn't until Steve was looking at everyone's faces that it finally hit him. What if they thought he was an abomination? What if they hated him because of this? How would he live with that? Tony nudged his arm, breaking him free of his thoughts. Steve took in a deep breath as he looked between his friends and teammates. Clearing his throat, he finally spoke up. "Hey guys?" He said, leaving room for him to continue if no one said anything. But they looked up from what they were doing to find their friend and captain standing there. "Yeah, Cap?" Clint asked as he set his tablet down. Steve looked worried which worried him. Whatever Steve had to say couldn't have been good if it worried Steve that badly. Tony grabbed Steve's hand, intertwining their fingers. "We've got something important to tell you." Tony helped out, a soft smile on his face. Steve nodded, too afraid to speak. Everyone was getting worried at how they were acting. Something was wrong if Tony was the calm one. "And what would that be?" Bruce asked, fixing his glasses to distract the captain. That had to calm him down, right? "We're. . . I'm. . ." Steve looked around the room for help. Since no one knew, no one was able to give him the help he needed. He looked to Tony for help but his husband just gave him a reassuring smile. "Well. . ." "Just spit it out, Rogers!" Natasha spat. She was getting tired of waiting for him to man up and tell them what was getting him so nervous. Tony glared at the redhead. "Calm the hell down, Romanoff!" Tony spat back, not appreciating how she was treating his husband. Natasha glared back at Tony who was standing his ground. It was almost cute if she wasn't the Black Widow. "You know what? The both of you can calm down!" Steve barked. Tony slowly took his gaze off of Natasha, the redhead doing the same. Steve turned to his husband. "You should know better than to snap at Natasha." He scolded then looked to the assassin that was sitting on the couch. "And you! This is Tony's house so I don't think yelling at his knocked up husband is winning you any points in his book." Natasha rolled her eyes. What was Tony going to do anyway? "Wait. Repeat that, please?" Bruce requested. Steve furrowed his brow. "This is Tony's house so I don't think yelling at his knocked up husband is winning you any points in his book?" Steve repeated, not understanding why Bruce was so interested in what he said. Clint's interest sparked and so did Natasha's. "Now just repeat the husband part?" Clint asked. "I don't think yelling at his knocked up husband-" "Yes! That's enough, thank you." Clint cut off. Steve looked to Tony who shrugged. "Knocked up husband?" Steve's eyes widened. "That wasn't how- I didn't mean to- That's not how I was planning on-" Steve rambled before sighing. "Yeah. Knocked up." He confessed. Thor cleared his throat. "Knocked up meaning. . .?" He prompted, not understanding the Midgardian term. "That I'm pregnant." Steve mumbled, sliding his hand down his face. Clint furrowed his eyebrows. "Uh, dude? You're a, well, you're exactly that, a dude." He pointed out. "How exactly are you pregnant? It's not like you have the proper equipment for it." Clint joked. Tony looked over at the archer. "The serum jacked some stuff up with all its 'perfectness'." Tony explained. "Trust me, we didn't understand it either. For starters, we thought Steve was dying." The blonde shot Tony a look. "We did!" He defended. "But after I had JARVIS scan him, we realized that he wasn't dying, he was just creating a new life." Clint nodded slowly. "That's. . ." Natasha drifted off. Steve looked up, his hands trembling as he worried about how she was going to end that statement. He didn't want the team to split apart just because him and Tony didn't realize what they were able to create while they were going at it one night. "That's amazing!" She finished after what felt like hours to the poor soldier. Steve let out the breath he didn't know he was holding when Natasha brought him in for a hug. "Thank you, Natasha. That. . . You don't know how much that means to me." Steve said, hugging the redhead even tighter. She laughed softly. "Oh I have my suspicions, Captain." She whispered. "Guys, that's wonderful!" Bruce exclaimed, moving to join the hug. Natasha and Steve pulled him in. "Awesome!" Clint cheered. "We're gonna add mini Cap or mini Tony to our collection of superheroes!" Steve chuckled as he pulled Clint into the hug as well. Tony watched in admiration at how everyone was so accepting of the family he was staring with Steve. "This deserves one of the best celebrations in all of the land!" Thor announced. Tony smiled at the thunder god. "Yes, Thor, yes it does." He agreed with the Asgardian. "Shall I set up the party, sir?" JARVIS asked. Tony, who was still looking at Thor, nodded. "Could you, J? That would be wonderful." The group hug broke apart so Steve could look at his husband, a smile on his face. That man was the man Steve had married, had pledged his life to, and now started a family with. His genius, billionaire, playboy, philanthropist. "Who shall I invite, sir?" "Invite Rhodey obviously. Sam, Bucky-" Tony started before Steve interrupted him. "Oh my god! I almost forgot about Bucky!" Tony rolled his eyes at his husband. He was so worried about what the team would think that he forgot to think about what his childhood best friend would say. "How did I almost forget about Bucky?" "Maybe because you were too busy worrying about how everyone would react." Tony suggested. Steve shot Tony a look. "See? You had nothing to worry about." Steve sighed. "Yes. You were right." Tony smiled. "If anything, I'm the one that has to worry. Bucky's gonna kick my ass when we tell him." The team started laughing. Tony just smiled, too much in a pleasant mood to feel insulted. Steve kissed Tony's forehead. "Bucky would kick your butt just because you knocked me up." Steals reassured him. "He'd kick your butt if you left me knock up." "Anyone else I should invite, sir?" JARVIS interrupted. "I would say Pepper but I don't know how my ex would take to me inviting her to a party about my husband and I expecting a baby." Tony replied with a shrug. "Unless Thor wants to invite Jane, I believe that's it Thor shook his head. "Oh no, this is your party. I shall pass on inviting Lady Jane." He said. Tony nodded. "Then you have your guest list." "What time should everyone come?" Tony looked to Steve. He shrugged. "What time is it now?" The brunette asked. "1:30, sir." Tony shrugged. "Then two hours from now. This way we have time to set up." Steve nodded in agreement. "Very well. The party is all set up for you and Captain Rogers." "Thank you, JARVIS." Steve said, standing up to go to his art studio to kill the time. "I'm sure Pepper would come. You guys remained friends after all." Natasha commented. Tony scratched the back of his neck. "Right. But wouldn't that just be weird? 'Hey we used to date but then I realized I was gay and dumped you for Captain America, please come celebrate the announcement of us having a kid together.' Isn't that just a little weird to you?" Natasha shrugged. "Tony, we fought aliens a few years ago. We're a team of superheroes. Doesn't that scream weird to you?" Bruce asked. "Alright, you got a point. JARVIS, can you add Pepper to the list?" "Already did, sir." Tony narrowed his eyes. "JARVIS you little shit." Tony mumbled. "Well played my friend, well played." "Do you need help setting anything up?" Clint asked. Tony shook his head. "Good. Cause I really wasn't going to help." He said before leaving for the training room. Tony scoffed. "Thanks for the help, birdbrain!" He called after Clint. Clint just flipped him off. Natasha rolled her eyes. "Children. I work with children."
