Aria’s POV
I sit in the hospital bed, staring at the walls. I’ve been awake for a while now, but everything feels blurry. The doctors say I’m fine, but I can’t shake this weight in my chest. They say I can go home today, but I’m not sure I want to.
“Aria, you’re free to go!” Dr. Smith says, checking my charts. He smiles, but I can’t smile back.
“Okay,” I mumble, feeling like a shadow.
He leans in closer. “Just remember, take it easy for a few days. You’re not fully recovered yet.”
I nod, but his words don’t seem to sink in. I feel like I’m floating.
Just then, Emily and Maira burst into the room. “You’re leaving! This is great!” Emily says, her voice full of cheer.
“Yeah,” I reply softly, trying to show some excitement, but it’s hard.
“You have to be careful, okay?” Maira adds, her
