One week had passed already, but Elena hadn't received any information about Jv. She knew that he couldn't leave the hospital without getting injured, knowing her father's anger towards her husband. She shook her head tons of times again this morning, thinking not to bother herself with Jv's business. If she wanted to move on, she needed to leave it all behind as well as just the idea of him.
She breathed heavily in frustration as she took a glance at her watch. It was already two pm as she was in her room, lying in bed, doing nothing. On the other hand, her father took care of the papers for them to migrate to Canada tomorrow. It was for sure a long stressful day. She doesn't know what to feel without Jv with her, mainly because they were together for six years. Before, though her husband beat her every day, she could say that he was hers, but, right now, it was different and complicated.
Elena jumped up suddenly in surprise when she heard a loud noise outside their mansion. Her eyebrows furrowed as she strolled out of her room, calling out to their respected female head servant.
"Aunt Kusing?" She called out, but no one answered. Her eyes wandered downstairs, but she couldn't see someone to ask for, so she decided to go and look at it herself. While she was strolling down the stairs, her eyes didn't leave any hints or clues around the place in case something happened without her knowledge.
"Aunt Kusing, what was happening?" She asked softly as her direction changed, leading to the right hallway showing the doorway. Her forehead creased in confusion seeing their maids were on the lookout for someone outside their abode. Her eyes traced the path unfolding the figure of the man whom she recognized so well— struggling himself and shouting at the bodyguard that was preventing him from entering the mansion.
"I need to see my wife! Elena, come out now, and let's talk!" Jv shouted angrily.
"What is he doing here?" She asked coldly upon her arrival without leaving her eyes on Jv.
The maids abruptly lowered their heads except for Aunt Kusing, as if bowing to her, expressing their respect.
"Your husband is requesting your presence, Elena. I couldn't let him in, as your father commanded me not to." Aunt Kusing, their respected female head servant, explained.
She nodded in understanding and raised her hands, signaling Aunt Kusing that it would be fine. "I'll take care of the rest, Aunt Kusing. All of you may now go back to your business."
The other maids gave her privacy, but Aunt Kusing determinedly looked at her in the eyes, signaling her that she couldn't leave unless the favor were coming from her father. She breathed heavily in frustration. No other option, Elena turned all her attention to the man standing just meters away from her while the bodyguard held both his shoulders firmly, waiting for her command.
"What the hell are you doing here, Jv? Aren't you embarrassed by yourself? You smell alcohol, and you seem like you have not taken a shower for days. I am afraid you're gonna see yourself on social media getting viral because of your looks." She retorted, covering her admiration that, despite his current appearance, he still looked dashing as ever.
"I don't care. The only thing that matters to me right now is you coming back to me. Elena, come on, I promise I'll make it up to you." He begged while his eyes were staring at her sincerely.
Her heart flutters seeing him beg for the first time within their six years of relationship. But, she was smart enough not to let her emotions dominate her mind.
"At what point didn't you understand, Jv? We are done, and please, go back to her! Look at yourself; you're messed up. She should be taking care of you right now," she said.
Her tears were threatening to spurt out of her eyes, but she tried to maintain her neutral emotion. She can't let anyone around her treat her as a weak woman, just like this man in front of her treated her. Though Elena's love for Jv was not reciprocated, she still cared for him. She wanted to slap herself for being so weak when it came to her feelings towards Jv, but she couldn't deny the fact that she still loved him. No one should invalidate her feelings. Imagine losing all the memories and mixed emotions she felt whenever she was with him. It wasn't easy to stop and turn blinds on everything.
"Shut up! I am now pursuing you. Why are you still involving her between us? This is just us, for god sake!" He responded in frustration.
She laughed sarcastically at his words. "You should have realized that before you allowed your mistress to ruin our marriage life! Trisha was your priority! She was the woman you loved so much! She was the woman that you can't live without! Please, stop making it hard for me and stop lying with those words of yours as if you needed me because you're not! I am leaving you!"
"No, you are not! You are not leaving me!" Jv went wild and freed himself from the hands of the bodyguards in just the blink of his eyes. She could not move, knowing that Jv was approaching her and forcedly taking her out of the mansion.
"Let me go!" Jv's grip on her wrist was so strong that she couldn't make him disappear.
"I said you are not leaving me, and you will come home with me. We'll start anew. That's what you want, right?"
"No!" she opposed. She forcedly took her hands away from him, and, thank god; the bodyguards were able to catch him on time. Aunt Kusing grabbed her away from Jv while he, on the other hand, decided not to do anything as several guns were pointing at him.
She thought Jv would be afraid of the guns but laughed sarcastically instead. His determination confused and amazed her at the same time.
"Why are you doing this?" Elena asked Jv while staring into his handsome face.
"Because I love you," he announced as his eyes begged her to believe him.
That's it. Elena knew that she had fallen right into his trap again. She couldn't move as she heard those words from her husband. Was she hallucinating, or was her dream coming true? Her heart races rapidly as her happiness increases, and urges her to go and kiss him. As her right foot moved forward in an attempt to give up everything and to embrace him, a sudden spark of memories, the memories that Jv choked her to death in the bathtub while caressing her stomach and protecting her child, made her step back several times away from him. Her emotions switched so fast from a glint of happiness to fear and anger in just one snap. Repeated words saying 'I don't love you' echoed in her mind, causing her to cover her ears in anxiety. She wasn't aware of her surroundings anymore, and the only thing she was focusing on was to stop hearing those words inside her.
'I don't love you.'
Her tears rolled down her cheeks as she shook her head.
"Stop!" she screamed while covering her ears. Her knees trembled and were about to fall, but a firm hand held her waist to support her strength.
'I will kill you!' Jv's figure appeared in her mind as the corner of his lips was raised to form a small smile.
"Stop!" She screamed again, struggling to cover her ears not to hear those curse words. But the words kept appearing in her mind, causing her to burst out crying so much. Her emotions were so intense that she just wanted to kill herself instead. She grabbed her hair so hard in anxiety but was prevented from getting worse by a strong hand. But instead of calming herself, the feeling of a strange hand touching her made her mind go crazy.
"Don't touch me! Don't touch me!" She fought with someone to protect herself, but what stopped her from being violent was the piercing of pain injected into her neck. It calmed her slowly and slowly as her mind fell into the darkness.
