CHAPTER 1: SEAN

1437 Words
It had  been a couple of months since the day of his downfall. That dreadful day that he was exiled from his pack after he was humiliated by the two people he thought they would never betray him. Since then, with no particular destination in mind, he started walking and walking until he reached a new town, he couldn't remember what day it was, he felt like time stopped moving since that day. He used to be an alpha, one he thought people loved and respected. Not in a million years, did he think that his blood and his other half would do such an awful thing. But life had a weird way of showing its humor. Here he was now, without a pack, no one to love and no one to trust. Since the last day of September, he was wandering amongst  the shadows in this new human town, he could smell and detect many werewolves, their scents were mixed as some were rogue and some were from other packs. His scent was covered and no one would recognize him with the way he looked now anyway. He indeed looked horrible from the outside , exactly how he felt on the inside, but he couldn't give a damn as he was mourning. Tonight was like any other night, he found a good spot behind a*****e and laid down to get some rest. He was homeless for a while now and sleeping outside was something he got used to very fast, he was half  a wolf after all and staying outside helped him to tame the voices inside his head. While he was sleeping like a homeless man thta he now was , he smelled something, a rogue. It wasn't an uncommon smell, as he was one too now. He decided to shake off the feeling to attack, it wasn't his concern anymore. His wolf though had another idea. He tossed and turned, trying to ignore the foreign feeling he was currently experiencing. He was restless, it was almost impossible to fall back asleep. Then he heard her. A plea for mercy towards someone, who wasn't going to give her any. He smelt her fear radiating from her body and that was it. He stood up abruptly and followed the sobs of the woman he heard. What he witnessed made him angry for some reason he couldn't understand. A small figure was laying on the floor hugging her knees to her self and she was crying. He could smell copper around her and he knew that the wolf in front of her, was hurting her. He stayed in the shadows to hear what the rogue was saying. The small necklace made of rope, around his neck was masking his scent so the rogue couldnt  smell him and figure out that he was  there, so he stayed quiet. Observing the scene unfolding in front of him.  "I ask politely but you refuse to please me b***h" The rogue snarled and with his sentence finished he grabbed the girl from her hair and pulled her upwards, to meet his eyes, she was way shorter than him and her figure far too petite. Even if she tried to fight, she wasn't a match for him. Sean knew that and before the rogue had a chance to continue with his assault he lunged at him, without making any sound. The girl felt a rush of air passing and then she fell to her knees, she was too weak from the earlier beating she had, to even stand up. She couldn't see clearly what was happening around her, the alley was too dark for her poor vision. She tried to stand up, by placing her palms on the wall behind her. When she finally managed to, she heard a sound that paralyzed her entire body. A swift twist of someone's neck that cracked and broke. It lasted only a mere seconds before hearing something heavy landing on the ground with a loud pat, that echoed in the entire perimeter of the dark alley. She sensed the danger but she couldn't move, her blood turned cold and she knew she was next. Silent tears fell from her eyes as she felt a presence behind her. She couldn't understand what was happening, her own body unresponsive. She needed to run, maybe that will save her but her body was beyond exhausted. The person behind her moved closer but she still couldn't move, she couldn't even face her murderer. "Are you alright?" a deep husky voice was heard from behind her. He was panting trying to catch his breath. She gulped the lump that formed on her throat. Slowly she pushed her back on the wall coming face to face with a very tall and muscular guy. She started from the bottom checking him shamelessly out and when she reaches his eyes, she gasped. Even if his entire posture screamed danger and he was indeed very intimidating his eyes told another story, she saw misery and a lot of pain. Something inside her began blooming, a foreign feeling she couldn't even explain to herself, as her entire body relaxed. She took a deep breath, trying to make sense of what was happening. Feeling better, like nothing had happened she opened her mouth to say something but nothing came out. She couldn't form a proper sentence to even thank him. Suddenly a sharp pain pierced the side of her head, it was so strong that made her lose her balance. She moved her hands to the sides of her head as her legs gave out. Black dots invited her vision and her eyelids felt heavier. Sean immediately grabbed her gently in his muscular arms before she landed on the ground. She grits her teeth as strong as she could to muffle her screams and to ease the pain but it wasn't working. The pain was too much up to the point it was unbearable, she started whimpering and Sean pull her towards his chest not knowing what else to do. If something like that occurred back in his pack the only thing he could do was to summon his pack doctor but now he was all alone. He didn't know what to do. "Don't worry... just stay with me... Stay with me" he kept telling her, trying to reassure her and him at the same time but her eyes were already closed. He tried to see the extend of her injuries realizing she was blending from the back of her head. Everything froze at that moment. He could hear her heartbeat, that was fading with every passing minute, that made him picked her up in bridal style and run as fast as he could. He didn't have a lot of time, the smell of her blood was getting stronger and she was barely conscious. He swore under his breath, something that he never did while he was alpha but leaving outside his pack for the first time in his life, forced him to change, a lot. But something he never felt, curled inside his soul. Guilt, he should have come earlier, he shouldn't have stayed in the shadows, he should have attack and save her earlier. He pushed all those guilty thoughts to the back of his head. He didn't have his pack doctor to save her but she needed a doctor. Thankfully he roamed around the city long enough to know where the human hospital was located. Not thinking about the consequences he began running towards the direction of it.  It was late at night, not having much time he used his supernatural speed to run faster. Even in the case of any human seeing him, he was too fast for them to even realize what they were seeing, as he will be long gone before they blink. As for the rest of the supernatural world, he couldn't care less about what they will think or if he will expose himself to them.  While running he lowered his eyes toward the girl who was barely conscious in his arms, the dim light from the moon was making her skin glow. Beautiful he thought, but he pushed those thoughts in the back of his head, he had a mate, one who rejected him but he still had her. It was wrong for him to believe that someone else was more beautiful than her. But it was true. Even though he never met this girl, he prayed to the moon goddess to save her. She couldn't die because he didn't save her sooner. She just couldn't
