Chapter 7 I’m too pissed—and too embarrassed—to go straight home. Instead I zoom along New Jersey Avenue, tearing down the dark street past dark homes, unable to pin my anger on just one target. Jamie yeah, and that behemoth he called Marcello, damn him too. Joey, naturally—somehow this is his fault, I’m sure of it. If only he’d been a bit more insistent about me not stopping, or talked me out of the bar in the first place, or hell, even plopped my dad in the car with me, made me go home first.
