Elena's pov: None of us said a word to each other after the quickie in the school car park. I didn't even have the time to regret it because his hand rested in mine, his other hand steered the steering lazily, his gaze sated and at peace on the road. It was the most at peace I have seen him. For the first time in a long time, we were together in the same space and we were not arguing or trying to bite each other's heads off. There wasn’t any yelling or screaming; nothing. I thought back to my mother’s death anniversary last year when all I got to feel was anger and rage. My dad had been angry with me over the phone that day too. He’d been drinking again. But he couldn’t afford to drink heavily on his dead mate's anniversary so he drank just enough to be sadistic. Enough to be abusive.
