One night at the Walt’s Manor, a cry of a boy pierced into the night – he whaled and scream for comfort but no one came to his recue, then the boy heard the a soft knock on his door. The door opened revealing his mighty saviour. The girl wrapped her arms around him, enveloping him to her warmth. She rocked him until his cries stop and with a blink of an eye his saviour was gone. He run to the door, but heard hushed whispers. He peered into the small c***k of the door and saw his saviour on the floor, her hands on her face as she looked down. “Don’t ever come into his room again.” His mother threatened his saviour. She nodded her head, not looking up. Then his mother walked away. His saviour slowly looked up, and then their eyes met. She smiled at him and walked away as if nothing ever happened. ______________________________________________________________________________________________________ People moved away from us and pretended to ignore us but their eyes were like knives, waiting for something to erupt. “Excuse me but that is my son you’re holding.” I turned around and pretended to look shock. My mother face froze and her face lost it’s color. “Oh, I’m sorry he just started crying and I didn’t know what to do.” I smiled apologetically.  I carefully put down Lance, but he held onto my side crying. I looked at her apologetically again. “I’m sorry I didn’t got the chance to introduce myself, I’m Kim Kosch.” My mother recovered from her shock and quickly took Lance arms. “Geraldine Walt.” I shook her free hand. She was looking at me like a zoo animal. “I’m sorry Mrs. Walt for making him cry. I was just talking to my husband –“ I looked at Fletcher for help. “—then he just started crying, I thought he was hurt.” Fletcher put an arm around my waist, squeezing my side for comfort. She looked at Fletch and his hand on my waist and put two and two together. “my wife’s got a soft spot for kids, I hope you don’t mind Mrs. Walt. I’m Fletcher Kosch, by the way.” He held his hand for her. She collected herself and put on a perfect smile and shook his hand. I wanted to laugh at how wonderful of an actress she is. “Oh, no harm no, no foul. My boy’s just feeling a bit cranky today.” He ran her fingers through Lance hair. “Aly?” Lance said in a little voice. “Lance.” She warned him, with a tight smile. “ Who’s Aly, bud?” Fletch asked him. He pointed at me, our mothers sile cracked and laughed nervously. “Honey that’s not Alexandria. That’s Mrs. Kosch.” She gave another nervous laugh. “I’m sorry, for some reason my son thought you were my late daughter.” She laughed again. I pretended to be shocked. “It was nice meeting you Mr. Kosch and Mrs. Kosch, but we have to go. My son’s not feeling well.” She walked away hand in hand with Lance. Lance looked back again, staring at me whilst wiping his tears. I was fighting all my senses not to cry, but I had to. I bit lip and hold on to Fletcher’s hand tightly. Everyone who witnessed the scene was shaken, they didn’t expected the young Walt to create such a scene. Fletcher kissed my cheek and lead me to meet other people. The day couldn’t get any faster, after that scene I wasn’t up for another family reunion. Unluckily for me, the day was just starting. Fletcher and I were walking around the garden holding hands looking like a beautiful couple, when someone called me. “Alex?” I didn’t responded, we continued our playful banter untili felt hand on my arm stopped me. Thankfully there weren’t much people around us, most of them were busy watching the performance on the left wing of the garden. I looked up to see my father’s hand on my arm. His face shocked at seeing me up close. I didn’t had much of bad blood with my father, after all he was one of the pawns on Mother’s chess game. I actually pitied him for being in a loveless marriage. But besides that he enables my mother’s schemes, he take part to whatever plan my mother wanted. “Alexandria?” he said again, I took his hand away from my hand and pushed it down softly. “I’m sorry, I’m Kim.”I apologetically smiled at him. “Hi Mr. Walt, I’m Fletcher Kosch and this is my wife Kim Kosch.” He offered his hand to shake, my father took it and looked away from me. “I’m sorry, you look like my daughter.” he exhaled in a tired way and shook his head. “I just thought she came back. I’m sorry Mrs. Kosch.” He sadly smiled at me. “I thought she was dead.” I said to him. His eyes droop down and sadly smiled as he nodded in agreement with me. “She is. I just thought that maybe –“ his voice cracked at the end. Who is this man? As far as I know, my Father never cared about me. Something’s not right here, I just can’t put my finger into it. “It’s nice meeting you Mr. Kosch – Mrs. Kosch.”He excused himself and walked away. “What the f**k happened to everyone while I was out?” I whispered shout at Fletch. “Let’s go home, I’ll tell you at the cottage.” He took my hand and lead me to the exit.
