Eventually, Julian practically became the guardian deity of my clinic. As the notorious Crown Prince of Meridia, his reputation preceded him; with his immense wealth and power, no one dared to cross him.
However, as the practice of holistic medicine continued to decline, business at my clinic grew increasingly sluggish. I started considering whether I should do some promotion.
Just as I was at a complete loss, Julian suggested I start live streaming to promote holistic medicine and educate people about its benefits.
I looked up at him, perplexed. "Do you really think I can pull that off?"
Leaning in close, our breaths mingled. In that fleeting moment of distraction, I could hear my heart pounding like a drum. He reached out and ruffled my hair. "Who dares to say my girl can't do it?"
He loved calling me his girl. When we first met, it was "Dr. Sullivan," but later, it morphed into "my girl." I knew he was highly possessive; I had sensed it from the very first day we interacted.
"If you say I can, then I definitely can," I replied. A bright smile spread across my face as I propped my head on my hand, meeting his gaze.
He patted my head gently and, right in front of me, pinned my chat conversation to the top of his list, changing my contact name to "Dr. Sullivan, Holistic Medicine Ambassador."
Startled, I asked, "You actually pinned my chat?"
He chuckled softly. "The only one."
Leaning forward, I pretended not to believe him and peeked at his phone. Suddenly, my eyes caught sight of a girl's profile picture just below our chat on his screen. My gaze froze for a second, but I pretended not to notice. I acted like I didn't care, trying to comfort myself with the thought that, at the very least, I was his only pinned contact for now.
