More so, they mean no harm, that’s their habitual habit, you would get use to it soon.” said Alex. Alex held her hand and moved closer to her bullies, he helped her spoke to the guys. “Hey guys. Meet Ajira, she’s is new here” “What a rear name possessed by a rear girl” said one of the guys “You’re welcome. By the way, our bullies meant no harm, so don’t be panic. I’m Andrew, but you can call me Andre” “Okay, nice meeting you.” replied Ajira. Ajira was pleased after the introduction, she held out her hands from Alex and appreciated him for coming on time. She wanted to ask him why he is there but the textbooks in his hand made her understood that he is also a student in the tutorial center. Alex led her to the front sit, he was about leaving for his seat when Ajira urged him to sit with her, but Alex resisted, he later introduced her to whom would keep her company “Meet Anna, she’s also an Art student” Alex said with tone of relief. “Hi Ajira, nice meeting you” “Same here, thanks” said Ajira. The introduction was cut short by the presence of a man at the door, it was Mr Anthony, their government tutor. Alex departed and left for his sit. The teacher and the students exchanged pleasantry and he proceeded with his maker to the white board. The topic he wrote was constitutional development and wrote Clifford constitution as the sub topic. He asked the year Elective principle was introduced to Nigeria from the students, as expected, many hands were up except Ajira, the tutor noticed that her hand was down and asked her to rise, he asked her name and asked her to answer the question. “1922.” answered Ajira. “Correct” Said the teacher. The students were engrossed with awe by her answer, their impression was that she’s a dull girl, oblivious that her brain is like a library. Ajoke gathered all the used plate into zinc, she brought out the pots and added them to the plates in the zinc. She went to her room and gathered her dirty cloths and put them in the cloth basket. She also went to her children room to do the same. She checked the time on her Tecno Spark 4 phone, it was time for Ajira to get home but she hasn’t seen her shadow. She tried calling her but she didn’t answer her call. “What could she be doing by this time” she thought. She rose from the sitting room and went to sit on the sofa outside the house waiting for her return. Ajira sat on the sofa outside her classroom. She was occupied within, she thought about the chores that would be waiting for her at home. She wiped off her sorry face when she saw Alex coming to her direction. “A.J, let’s go home” said Alex. “A.J? who’s that?” asked Ajira “Okay okay, it seems you don’t like it. Ajira, let’s go home” “Would you like it if I call you A.L?” asked Ajira “It’s nothing na, A.J” he said with a smile “I’m not ready to go now” said Ajira “Why? This place is dangerous, it would be really better if you would let go your worries and let head out. “Okay let’s go” replied Ajira. The both left the tutorial and headed to their home. Alex tried to ask her why she didn’t want to go home but Ajira told him not to bother, they discussed other things about their education on the road which made the journey long.
