*Chapter-4: Jerk

Melisa's POV: I was decorating the cake for the birthday of an eight-year-old girl, whose grandmother specially ordered that for her. While decorating the cake a huge smile was plastered on my face, memories of my own grandmother was flashing in my mind. Suddenly, the bell chimed over the door. I quickly whipped my hands off on my apron and dashed outside. Sofia had taken a leave to take care of her mother, so I was on my own. Her mother had operated yesterday, therefore I forced her to stay with her mother. The operation was successful and her body was accepting the transplant. A man in a suit was standing there, peaking inside the kitchen as he was slightly bending over the counter. He looked rich, which me doubtful why he had come on an average bakery? "Good Afternoon, Sir! What would you like me to pack for you?" *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.* Tyler's POV: These days were like hell for me. It wasn't difficult to get details about that angel. But the real deal was was to think of a way to get to talk to her. Honestly, I was- No! I am nervous. I was standing in front of her bakery. The bell ringed as I entered the bakery. It was small but not cramped up with pink and half-white decorating. Delicious and alluring desserts displayed on the glass counter. It had a harmonious atmosphere as a sweet smell wafted through the air. There was no one on the counter and for a moment I thought I won’t get to meet her, disappointment washed through me. But then... "Good Afternoon, Sir! What would you like me to pack for you?" She asked, in her soft melodic voice, which heard like an angel was singing. I looked in her beautiful, soft green eyes that seemed to drown me in them. Her oh-so gentle and fragile figure urged me to take her in my arms. I was snapped out of my trance when she asked again. "Hello, Sir? Are you okay?" She asked. It caused a smile to creep up my lips as I looked at her cute-self. She was wearing an apron, which made her look adorable. "Y-yeah, I-I'm fine." I mentally cursed myself for stuttering. She furrowed her eyebrows for a second, but then straightened her face. "So, what would you like?" She asked, and "You" slipped from my mouth, immediately. At that moment, I was silently praying that the earth might open and swallow me whole. Her eyes widened for a moment then a hard expression mustered on her angelic face. It was looking really stunning on her. "Excuse me?" She said a bit rudely. However, it only made a certain place to twitch in excitement. "You are excused," I said, without thinking, and gave her a smirk. She blinked a few times then gave me a rather hard look. It was getting worse but it just made me want to tease her more. "Do you even want to buy anything? If not, then get out." She said angrily. It made her look more beautiful if that was even possible. God, what is happening to me? Can a person even fall in love with someone at first sight? This deeply? Especially a ruthless murderer like me? "Umm... I want this, this, this and that one too." I pointed to the cakes that looked delicious, as nothing other came to my mind. But then again, everything there was delicious as it was made by my angel. I would have bought everything if a glaring stare wasn't piercing through my head. She gave a stern nod and took out those before packing them neatly. I was staring at her like a creep that I had become, but only for her. *.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.* Melisa's POV: That creep was constantly staring at me and it was pissing me off. You know what; these are the men I hate the most. Perverts, Cocky, Show off......and so on. I handed him his boxes on which he gave me a big smile, which was really weird. Why is he smiling so much? I gave him a glare in return, only causing him to smile even more. You could not imagine how much this pissed me off. "Bye! Have a nice day beautiful." He said after paying, giving me a wink and then left immediately. It was so abrupt that when I came back to my senses, he had already left. Jerk! I don't know why but he made me very angry. Later, when Sofia came I didn't talk with her. On noticing the bitter aura that was surrounding me, she asked why mood was so damned and I just told her about that jerk. I had to rant it out with her or else I might have hunted him down to bash his brains out. I didn't even know why he agitated me that much! And guess what? She started laughing. She. Started. Laughing. "What is so funny about this?" I asked her, annoyed, at which she laughed even more. "What's wrong with you? I don't find anything which can piss you. I mean, he simply bought some cakes and that's it." She said, and it totally took me off guard. I looked at her with wide eyes as if she had grown two heads. "Seriously? I asked him what he would like about the bakery products and he immediately replied 'you'. he was staring at me continuously all the time and you are saying that it’s nothing?" I ranted in disbelieve, but she only grinned and I knew what was coming now. "Was he handsome? He was clearly hitting on you. If he was handsome give it a try-" I caught her off, when it started to get on my nerves. "Hey! Stop! Stop right here. You know I don't want to be in a relationship. Don't start again." I deadpanned. She sighed and grabbed my hands, looking pleadingly in my eyes. "Mel, you can't spend your life alone. You should open your heart for someone. You have to let someone in." She said gently, her forehead wrinkled with worry. I looked at her pleading eyes, but then the images of my father kicking and punching me flashed through my mind as extreme pain erupted in my head. I grabbed the side of my head. "Mel!" Sofia cried, worried. I lifted my hand up to stop her. I wanted to calm myself down and I didn't want to feel any presence around me for that. "I-I'm okay. I'm okay...." I said, standing straight. She looked at me in anxiety, her eyes tearing up. I can’t help but to roll my eyes on her being so dramatic. She really was a little too emotional. "Don't worry. I'm okay, just.... headache. I'm going now. You should also leave after closing it." I said, and gave her hand a gentle squeeze. She smiled and nodded, still giving me that worried face. She acted like a  mother-hen sometimes. I left the shop and began to walk on the path familiar to my daily routine. I was halfway to my apartment when my phone rang. I pulled the phone out of my jeans’ pocket and checked the caller ID. I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath before picking up the call. "Yes, mom?" I said coldly, already feeling annoyed. "Hey, dear! Umm.....I was wondering if you can come to dinner tonight?" She sounded nervous that I would reject straight away. So bad that I was not adamant about keeping her hopes. "Sorry, mom but I'm busy," I said. I heard a sigh when she continued. "Actually, Nora and Camellia are really sad and want to meet their elder sister. Nora is sick, so she's constantly asking for you. Please!" She pleaded, softening my heart successfully. She knew my weakness and I hated it. I sighed, again. I couldn’t deny her if Nora was asking for me. "Okay. I'll be there at eight. But if he will do something, I won't tolerate." I said, and she immediately replied with an 'okay'. I hung up the call and turned around to make my way back to the bakery. I returned to take a chocolate cake with me. Nora and Camellia liked chocolate cake. Honestly, I love my sisters and mother the most in the world, but I'm not happy with mom, because she doesn’t want to leave her husband and kept on living in that hell with my sisters. I did send them enough money every month, but I better knew what happened to the half of that money. Thankfully, Sofia was about to leave when I reached the bakery. I packed a chocolate cake and then left the bakery. I took a cab and reached the place which I once called home. The place where only horrible memories were connected now. I knocked at the door nervously. The fact that I was going to see his face again, it unnerved me. After a few minutes, the door opened and there was standing a widely smiling Camellia. "Mel!!" She yelled, as she wrapped her arms around my torso, whilst digging her face in my stomach. I smiled at her enthusiasm and crouched down at her level to kiss her cheek. "Hello, little princess! Where's Nora? I have brought chocolate cake for both of you." I said happily. She squealed excitedly and dragged me by my hand to the living room. Nora was sitting on the couch. Her face lit up as soon as she saw me coming. She quickly jumped up from the couch and ran towards me, enhancing me in her gentle embrace. "Hey, Nora. What's up?" I asked, smiling at her. She sniffed a few times, stopping herself from crying. "Hey! What happened?" I asked, and she looked towards me with teary eyes. "I missed you, Mel. You know I was sick and you weren’t here." She answered sadly. It sunk my heart but I mustered my best fake smile on my face. "Sorry, princess. It would never happen again, okay?" I said cheerfully. She only looked towards me with suspicious eyes, which amused me. "Promise?" She said, picking out her pinky. I chuckled but intertwined my pinky with her anyways. "Promise," I confirmed, causing a bright smile to bloom on her small round face. It was the thing I was living for. Mom came from behind and smiled at me. I gave her a tired smile in return. She was also tired of everything and she knew that. Nora hugged me, which I returned by taking her in my embrace, and Camellia also joined, and next my mother kneed down and completed the joy of my life. At that moment it felt like my life was complete and there was no loneliness. But as every good thing had to come to an end, this moment also came to the end when the devil came. "Aww! What a cute family! But don't you think you're missing a person?" He said mockingly, which made my mood go back to pissed off. Why he has to come?
