They Are Not Ordinary

CHAPTER 46

ASHTER STARR

I stood there shocked as I felt like everything froze. My eyes were wide open as Leo pulled me back and smiled at me before I notice him smirk at someone from behind me. I didn't get a chance to react when I felt Leo pull me away. There is when I saw the principal standing on the other side smirking as Leo pulled me off the stage.

The audience was still yelling and applauding at us but nothing seemed to register in my body yet. Everything was whirling as we made it to the backstage.

I saw Leo's friend standing there, waiting for Leo to come out. They had a huge smile and congratulated us as soon as we came out.

"Leo our man! You did a very great job!" Tristan said as he and Leo fist bump each other.

"Leo! you are amazing! that play was lit"

"How did you manage to memorize that all? Damn you guys are so great. I wish I have that kind of talent."

His friends started to compliment him. Then all of his friends turned at me and they all have a smirk on their faces.

What the fuck...

"Thank you guys, I don't think I could've done it without Ashter." He smiled at me but I was still in shock about everything. I just gave them a small smile in greeting.

Something didn't feel right. They all had a creepy smirk on their faces. Like why is everyone so creepy and smirking all the time?

It's really starting to piss me off. It's really annoying. I want to wipe those smirks in their faces.

For whatever reason, Leo still had his arm around me like I was his girlfriend. I wanted to pull away because I wanted to change into some comfortable clothes but my body felt numb around his group of friends... It's very odd.

I mentally called for Damien, searching with my eyes. I know he saw the kiss and the worst thing is I knew it hurt him. I'm not dumb.

Leo's friends kept side glancing at me as their conversations continued. It's just freaking weird. Are they talking about me? What the heck? I don't like it here anymore, it's uncomfortable.

Where is the hell is Damien?

"You f*****g moron!" I heard a voice boom sending chills. Almost in an instant, I felt Leo's hand leave my arm as someone had pinned him harshly on the wall.

There he is...

"DAMIEN STOP!" I saw Zachary and Claude run to Damien as they tried yanking him off Leo, who looked shocked and a bit afraid. "Damien! Let him go!"

Zachary finally managed to pull him off as I came to my senses of what was happening and quickly tried to help Zach and Claude control Damien.

I grabbed his arm as I yanked him towards me and hugged him tightly. His face buried in my neck and he tried pulling away to most likely to hurt or even worse, kill Leo, but I hung onto him even more tight. He could easily throw me off but he obviously didn't want to hurt me. He soon calmed as he breathed me in and soon relaxed under my arms and wrapped his arm around my waist possessively.

"We tried holding him back, but he was too angry," Claude mumbled to me glancing at Damien in my arms. I nodded and thanked them for at least attempting to help.

"Hey Damien, it's okay. It didn't mean anything at all. I promise" I tiptoed to whisper in his ears to reassure him about the kiss because obviously, that was the reason why he was super angry.

I looked up at Leo who was confused and almost angry while his friends were staring intently almost as if observing what was going on between me and Damien.

I ignored them and hugged Damien tighter to me and kissed him in the cheeks. To further calm him which it did. Immediately a smile was plastered on my face.

Zachary looked over at Leo and squinted his eyes at him.

"Don't you think you have done too much?" Anger was laced in his voice.

I frowned my eyes. What does he mean?

I didn't bother asking though as my main priority was making sure Damien was calm. His breathing was stable and his arms were still tightly around me almost afraid like I would disappear if he didn't hold tight enough.

After a few seconds, I finally released him and looked into his eyes making sure that it was the normal color.

Once I saw that it was relaxed. I gave him a gentle squeeze before turning to Leo who was still in a glare competition with Zachary. His friends just stood there like nothing happened. Almost like they weren't afraid of Zachary and Claude. Which is odd since everyone is afraid of them.

"Ashy come over here, you shouldn't be hanging around with these freaks" Leo's voice wasn't that sweet soft voice anymore. So this means that he was just pretending to be a good boy? I frowned my eyes as I got mad. Everything just snapped at me.

I felt Damien squeeze my hand tight as if he was trying to control himself. That angered me, Damien has been called that along with many more, too many times and I hated it.

He wasn't a freak. He is a very thoughtful, amazing, kind, intelligent, and caring boy. I know he left me before and hurt me but that doesn't matter. I just hated the fact no one gave him a chance and they just assumed that he was bad because people are spreading bad rumors about him and them.

Most of all I hated Leo for saying that he was a freak and for kissing me. He is freaking disgusting. He was just pretending to be sweet and a kind boy in front of me. I hate myself because I didn't see his real personality.

I'm a fool and that foolishness led me to him. And he f*****g kissed me!

Then he had the nerve to tell me who I should or shouldn't be hanging with because he thinks they're freaks.

"Ashy? Come on Ashter just come over here, don't worry we won't let those freaks hurt you"

"Shut your f*****g mouth or I will f*****g rip those" Damien growled.

"Oh wow! It speaks! That's very surprising! I thought you are mute" Leonardo mocked.

"Leonardo please stop" I snapped holding Damien's hand just as tight to prevent him from killing someone in the school's theater room.

Leo was taken aback because I used his full name. He looked so confused.

"Why are you like this?" I said disappointment was laced in my tone. "I thought you are a good person? but when it comes to them you started calling them things? that's not the Leo I know"

"No Ashter, why are you even hanging with them? They are... They are not ordinary" He emphasized looking at Zachary, Claude, and Damien.

"I suggest you run along with your friends as it seems like Ashter won't be going anywhere with you. So just leave before things get ugly" Zachary imputed casually. He seemed tired of this back and forth and wanted it to end.

Leonardo's friends looked mindlessly bored.

"Why are you so mad Damien?" Tristan said with a grin. Obviously mocking Damien which I squinted my eyes at him.

"He's mad because I kissed Ashter and Ashter liked it" Leonardo smugly said.

Damien leaned forward to attack but I held him back as anger filled in me.

"What makes you think that I liked it? Who the hell even gave you permission to kiss me? And most of all I never said I liked it" I snapped at him. I was beyond angry at him because I trusted him over the last few months and I really thought he was a respectful and kind boy. But I was blinded, No scratch that, I was fooled.

Fuck. He is really great at acting. I hate myself for falling in whatever stupid s**t he planned.

"Wait... What? I--I thought we-" He stuttered, soon he looked embarrassed since it had backfired on him.

"You thought what?" I glared at him "You thought that you can kiss me just because we did a play together? Is this why you insisted me to join you?"

"No... I mean I assumed we had something..."

"Well, use that brain of yours and don't assume things. Just leave me alone, I don't want anything to do with you anymore" I spat and turned around. Zachary and Damien looked surprised at my outburst. Soon Damien stood there smirking happily.

"Ashy wait-" He reached to grab my arm but I immediately yanked it away.

"Don't f*****g call me Ashy anymore and don't freaking touch me" I warned. "I don't ever want to see you ever again. I am done with this."

Soon we were greeted by the principal.

"What is going on here?" She asked in a fake concerned tone. It was obvious she knew exactly what happened.

Leo's friends narrowed their eyes at Damien, Zachary, and Claude as they did the same.

Soon the tension rose to a maximum. The principal walked up and squeezed Leo's shoulder as she made her way to us.

"You guys shouldn't fight okay? We just finished an amazing performance by these two. Why not celebrate it?" She huddled me and Leo together which I moved away. I was clearly disgusted.

"After all, the fun has just begun..." She said with a devilish smile playing on her lips.
