-Cora- “Come on, friend,” I smile at my son as I lift him from the changing table. “Let’s go outside. I’ve been in the library far too long.” Peter giggles at me like he understands and wants to go outside. Maybe he does understand me. I’ve spent most of the past five months trying to piece together how magic works. Both King Franklin and Joseph have been working on it, too. I think it’s just about the only thing they’ve ever agreed on. We need to understand how magic works if we have any chance of controlling how it’s used- for or against us. My neck hurts from looking down so much, and I’m done for today. I may not even pick up a book tomorrow. I don’t think I’m getting anywhere.
