Cora- Chapter 46

1668 Words

I stay seated on the grass long after King Franklin leaves. He’s going to destroy my life. He’s going to break my bond with Joseph. Sure, he won’t kill him, and he’s assured me I’ll be the Queen, but I never cared about that. He’s going to break the one thing I cherish. I have cried so much, to the point that I don’t have any tears left. “Cora, what are you doing out here?” Joseph calls from the other side of the flowers. Well, the flowers that are left. King Franklin took what he needed earlier. I offer him a weak smile. “I wanted to come here one more time before I become too big to walk.” He crawls through the flowers, and his face falls when he sees me. “What’s happened?” I sniffle. I want to tell him everything, but I can’t. The order won’t allow me to say a word of it.
