When I finish training, I leave the library and walk straight out the front doors. I’m going to my grove, I link my mate so he won’t worry. Is everything alright? Is anything ever alright in this place? I retort, but I can feel him grow fearful through the bond and regret my words. I’m fine. I’m just upset. I’m going to the one place I feel safe. I walk quickly, though it’s beginning to feel more like a waddle now. I’m halfway through the pregnancy, and each day, I feel twice the size I was the day before. I reach the grove and strip down before climbing through the flowers. I’m thankful Joseph isn’t here because, at this size, I must look ridiculous on my hands and knees. I don’t trust my bedsheet hammock at this weight, so I lie in the grass and watch the clouds pass by. “W
