“Sit down,” the king booms at me as soon as I enter his office. It’s early, and he’s starting our bi-weekly meeting by being a complete d**k.
I ignore him and walk to the coffee pot instead. I pour him a mug full of the steamy liquid and sit it on the desk. “Clearly you need this more than I do,” I tell him.
He sighs and pinches the bridge of his nose. “The Alpha at Silver Moon has done something stupid again. I’ve been dealing with him since the moment I woke up.”
“Another Alpha challenge?” I ask as I pour my own mug and sit across from him.
He shakes his head. “No, but he’s hiding pack funds. I’m just not sure where yet.”
