Chapter 40
Three days later and I was back at the café trying to regain some sort of normality. The shock of Dad’s heart attack and relief that followed had abated, particularly now he’d begun his rehab. Mum was occupied with making sure he was doing his exercises and taking his medication and, of course, with Josie and her newly announced baby bump, which was yet to show. And that left me with the café and Nick. He was still working things out with his old job to see if there was a position for him and in the meantime he seemed happy enough to let me take over things. I needed to keep busy, so it worked for me.
