I moved the pillow. Sabrina had pulled the desk chair around and was sitting backwards on it, arms folded over the top, watching me with the expression she uses when she's already three steps ahead and waiting for everyone else to catch up. "The woman," she said. "Tell me everything about her. Not the shop — her." "I already told you—" "You told me she cursed you. I want the part before that." I knew where this was going. I looked at the ceiling. "She wasn't old," I said. Sabrina's eyes narrowed by about half a millimeter. "Okay." "Or — mysterious, exactly. She was more—" I coughed. "Tyler." "Attractive," I said. "She was attractive." The silence had a very specific texture. "What did you do," she said. Not a question. "Nothing. I mean — not nothing, but—" "What did you do."
