“Miss Mia, where is Mrs. Camila's daughter? The patient condition is very critical and if the deposit for the operation is not made then the treatment will not proceed and if the treatment doesn’t proceed then, am sorry but we wouldn’t be able to save her”. The doctor said.

“No, doctor, I will call my friend now, she will soon be here, please start the treatment”. Mia begged the doctor.

“Am sorry, but the deposit has to be made before the treatment can proceed”. Mia quickly dialled Isabella's number. It rings and rings, but there is no response. Mia is very worried as to why Isabella wasn’t taking her calls.

AT THE RUDE MAN’S HOUSE.........

I looked at my body stained in blood, and I cried brutally. I cursed my entire existence. I now hated my own body because my beauty landed me into this trouble. I managed to get up to clean up myself since I was in a lot of pain. I entered the restroom and turned on the shower to wash off all the blood, and I became lost in my own thoughts.

I think of how my dad left us to marry another woman and how much we have managed to survive since that time. I think of how I was looked down on throughout my school life because I never looked good. My uniform was torn, my shoes were worn out, I had no lotion or deodorant, so I always smelled like a bin. I never had friends because everyone came from a rich family in my school, and I was there on a scholarship.

I thought of how I was abused time and time again, my uncle, when I was just five. At this point I felt like it was all over and I wasn’t going to bear all this pain again all in the name of life, I would rather die than to be in this world of sufferings. I saw a razor on the shelf and tried to cut my wrist, but then I remembered my sick mother.

If I were to die now, who would be with her and I also remembered that she had just six hours to live if the deposit was not made. It was for the sake of my mum that I agreed to be with this man, so I wasn’t going to just stop after going this far.

I got out of the restroom and changed into my clothes. I picked up my phone and bag and was about to leave when the rude guy said “heyy... miss fairy, you have signed a contract to be my wife, so I give you a week to sort out all you need to do and move into my house fully”

“And what if i do not do that”

“Great question, if you decide to go against my instructions then be sure to lose everything you have, you actually have nothing but you have your mother and your beautiful friend, what was her name, mmmmm, Mia, right”

“How did you get to know all this information about me, sir” He looked at me and laughed.

“Well, I guess I forgot to introduce myself to you. I am the one and only Lucas David, the richest billionaire in the city, does my name ring a bell, miss fairy.”

The moment I heard his name, I was dumbfounded.

“Mr....Lucas....David, I have heard about you a lot of times though I have never seen you and I never intended on doing so because whatever I heard of you made me despise you so much and now that I have witnessed how you are myself, then I was not wrong to have hated you” His countenance changed and he raced to were I was, grabbed me and pushed me against the wall.

“Now listen to me well, miss fairy. You can think whatever you want of me, believe me, I don’t give a f**k but that cannot change the fact that you are now my wife and I own you now. You are my commodity and you have no right to talk to me in that manner. Now get out of her like a good girl, do whatever it is you have to do and move into my house within a week and beware my guards are all around keeping a close eye on your actions, now get out.”

I ran out of the house crying and cursing my fate but will cursing my fate and crying like this solve the situation, no it won’t so I cleaned my tears and was prepared for what was to come. Right now , the most important thing was my mother so I headed straight to the hospital.

AT THE HOSPITAL.................

I ran to my mother’s ward to see her and her condition was so critical. I met the doctor and told him that I had the money with me so they could start the treatment now. The doctor told me to go and pay and that I was going to sign a 50:50 chance of survival document because a lot of time was already wasted and my mother may not survive the operation.

“Doctor, please don’t say that my mother won’t survive. I arrived with the money and an hour is still left before six hours elapses so please safe her”

“I can’t assure you of anything you just have to pray and have faith in God.” The doctor said and ordered the nurses to prepare for the operation. I went to pay the money and also signed the survival document. Mia arrived and was so happy to see me.

“Oh, Bella, you scared the hell out of me. I am just coming back from the bar where you work and they said you had left the bar a long time ago, where have you been, Bella and did you mange to arrange for the money?”

“Oh, Mia, you worry too much. I had to leave the bar early in order to look for the money and yes, I have arranged for the money”

“Really, Bella, that is good news but how did you mange to come up with such a huge amount of money?”

“Well, Mia, I will tell you everything but that’s after mum is alright”

“Ok, Bella, just have faith ok, your mum will be fine”

The operation theatre lights turn off and the doctor comes out. I and Mia rushed to him and I asked him, “ Doctor, was the operation successful, how is my mother now”
