The doctor countenance was not that of happiness, and so I became scared.

“Doctor, please say something, I am getting scared” I said to the doctor.

“Miss Isabella, I am very sorry but we could not save your mother, a lot of them was wasted and that was the reason she could not hot survive the operation.”

“Did I just hear the doctor well? What did he say happened to my mother? No, it can’t be. It must be a prank, right, doctor. I know my mum is fine, so she asked you to prank me, right, mummmmm, I know you can hear me, look, I caught you and the doctor, you could not prank me”

“ I understand that you are in a state of shock, Isabella, but the fact is that we could not save your mother. She is dead”

The word "dead" kept echoing in my ear. I did everything for my mother, including giving my life to a stranger, and I still could not save my mother. All these things happened because of poverty. Otherwise, my mother would still be alive, and we would be having our normal mother-daughter chitchat. I lost my mum to the cold hands of death, my whole world is shattered, I was living for my mum before and now I don’t think I can continue with this life again, I just go to my mum and leave this life full of miseries. I saw a nurse coming with a tray of equipment’s, as soon as the nurse reached my side, I grabbed the scissors and stabbed myself.

“Mum....... am....coming to you...., I said while struggling to breathe and just like that everywhere turned dark.

“Noooooo, Bella, why did you do this to yourself? This is not the solution. You have to be strong for your mother’s soul. Please wake up!!!!!!!!! Doctor...... nurse....... please do something , my friend is dying” Mia kept on crying.

Isabella was rushed into the operation theatre where the doctors stopped the bleeding but despite all their efforts, Isabella had already given up, her soul was not willing to come back to her body, they used all the machines to try and revise her but all efforts proved abortive.

The doctors came out and announced her dead. Mia cried and cried. She was still shocked at how she lost two lives, who were one of her closest relations. It all felt like a dream. “Someone, please wake me up from this nightmare. It can’t be true” Mia kept on saying.

Well, do you think a miracle could still happen and Isabella could wake up from death? You will find out soon.

The guards whom Lucas had hired to watch over Isabella watched the whole scenario and went straight to inform their boss.

“Boss, your bride has passed away” one of the guards said.

“What do you mean by passed away, She just left here not too long ago, how can she die, no its not possible, what happens to the contract now, I won’t even get to touch her body again not to talk of sleeping with her, oh, wifey, I guess you couldn’t even bear my attitude so you decided to kill yourself, well that’s your cup of tea, I will just find a hotter lady and do the same to her” he laughs wickedly.

What a heartless man, anyways guys, Isabella’s soul is wandering in the land of the dead, and now let’s see how she comes back to life.

Isabella’s point of view.......

Everywhere is so bright, and I wonder where I am. A sudden surge of light comes in front of me, and my mum appears in front of me.

“Mum, is it really you” I ran and hugged my mum. “Mum, why did you live me, I went through a lot to raise that money for you but you still didn’t survive for my sake, how am I supposed to live without you, I cannot mum so that is why I also killed myself so that I can live here with you forever away from that wicked world.”

“No, Isabella, you should not have done that to yourself, I saw how much you suffered to raise that money and I promise you that although you might suffer in that loveless marriage but you will find joy in the end, so please go back, it is not your time to die now, you still have a lot of things both good and bad in store for you, so please you have to go back”

“Mum, did you just say for back? What exactly are my going back to, mum? Is it the t*****e I will receive from the rich man or the thought of having to live my life without you there with me? Mum, I am going to stay here with you, okay, I am going nowhere.”

“Bella, if you ever cared about me as your mother in your entire existence, then you would listen to your mother’s last wish. Go and live your life, my angel. Like I said, it is mot going to be easy, but in the end, it will all be worth it. Go, my dear, gooooo..........”

Like thin air my mum disappeared leaving me behind, I cried profusely and wished I could stay back here but my mum had wished for something from me for the first time and I was going to grant that wish of hers. A door covered in the cloud appeared in front of me and was flung open ,I walked through the door, and I sneezed on my death bed. The nurse ran to call the doctor, and I was confirmed alive. The doctors were all shocked as to how I came back to life, if only they knew what I had to go through to be here.

Mia rushed in with joy as soon as she heard the news, and she was so happy. I could see the joy in her eyes from where I was, and I was overjoyed to have her as a friend.

Two days later, I was discharged from the hospital and went home. I didn’t resume my regular job because I knew what was in store for me. I had sold my life to a beast, and therefore, I had to pay the price for that.
