THE HEADS OF THE TWO LATEST murder victims were found two days after the letter arrived on Lieutenant Cannone’s desk.
Head number one was stuffed into the blue golf ball machine at Urban Putt, an indoor miniature golf course on 18th Street. A six-year-old boy was the first to notice the gruesome sight, popping up from the pile of dimpled balls. Fortunately, the lad assumed the severed head was a toy.
Head number two was found by some curious rodents underneath the cornhole game at Wynkoop Brewing Company.
The heads belonged to Hazeema and Imran Wazir, the owners of the Lucky Day Motel.
