HEAT

ALICE No, this had to be some sort of lucid dream. This couldn't be happening. I held my breath, eyes widened in shock. I recognized both of the men now prancing around a circle, fangs elongated, and bodies posed for attack. Wolves and Vampires didn't get along well, but this wasn't the case here. There existed some sort of specie-hatred, but I knew—hell, we all knew—the main cause of the present confrontation. Daisy... They all were here for Daisy. My heart beating a million beats per second, I exhaled and lunged a bolt of fire into the air. It worked. The night sky was temporarily illuminated, streaks of luminous energy flying back to the ground. Everything paused. The prancing and intimidation stopped. Temporarily. Both men walked into the property and stopped their eyes on me. "Mommy?" Daisy whimpered behind me. She was scared shitless. Her fear was doing things to my motherly instinct. The next five minutes would decide if I would send them all out of the premises or listen to whatever the f**k they had to say. They stopped beside the dragon and acknowledged him with a nod. "How come both of you are always so unreasonable?" Draco sighed. Now I could sense frustration in him. "How did you know I was here anyway?" I knew Damon would speak first, and the temperamental wolf didn't disappoint. "Maybe you shouldn't have run over here without us," he accused Draco. "This stupid imp—" His fingers pointed to the quiet vampire male, Jasper. "—got to know that you found her location and didn't say anything about it. Both of you... Sick f***s!" I paused to access the men before me. Oh, Jasper looked better than I remembered. That didn't come as a surprise. You'd be shocked by the numerous health benefits blood possessed. And Damon looked more buffy... and angrier. I had three kings on my front porch. The kings of the three most influential and popular species were standing right before me just like all those years ago. I was breaking history like I had during that drunken high-as-f**k lustful night. Before that night, it was never recorded—and still wasn't officially recorded—that the DRAGON king, LYCAN king, and the VAMPIRE king gathered without creating a war under the same roof. "Hi, Alice," Jasper waved at me. His dark eyes gleamed brightly as he tried to take a peep behind me. Then in a quiet voice, he asked, "Is that... your daughter?" Of course, hitting the nail on the head was going to remind everyone of the main reason for the gathering. Damon moved a bit closer and tried to look behind me, but Daisy moved away when she caught a glimpse of him. The wolf king was just as athletic and heavily built as I remembered. His blue eyes, mesmerizing and enticing, roamed over my body, almost stripping off my gown. Stupid me! I didn't mind going on my knees and pleasing them—again! I resisted the urge to ground my teeth until they turned into fine dust. The result of one wild night was currently hiding behind me in fear, and I was foolishly letting the heat from these men get to me? Well, f**k it. "This is Daisy," I said, reaching behind me and gently pulling my daughter. Her eyes didn't leave the ground. Her grip on her stuffed chameleon didn't falter. I watched each of the men. I was suddenly becoming non-existent, considering the shift of focus. Jasper's eyes glowed a bright yellow. A trait of vampires that defined a sense of thrilling excitement and confusion. The glow settled even before I could get a closer look. The night air whipped his dark hair, ruffling the caged strands which he tied in a ponytail. I could sense the confused excitement within him, the anxiety of Daisy being his daughter. Draco was calmer. One look at his serene face made me at ease. He was the kind of man who comforted you without words or physical contact. Just his presence was powerful enough. His long white braids were loose and allowed just enough hair to fly around his face and shoulders. Sexy... Hot and so f*****g sexy. I knew what existed within that thick fur coat. Good goddess, Damon looked dangerously delicious. It must have been his unease that made him ruffle his dark-as-night hair which now hung forward, partly blocking the view of his right eye. I wanted that obstruction out of the way! Staring into the depth of his blue orbs was akin to jumping into a preserved cold lake during a drought. I could almost read their thoughts. Three pairs of probing eyes on my daughter trying to pick one—or two, or three—physical features that could help them understand her paternity. It was fruitless. I'd asked myself that same question for the past six years: WHO AMONG THE THREE KINGS IS DAISY'S FATHER? At first, I foolishly concluded that it was Damon since he had been the first to ram into me, unleashing his masculine energy and seed, seeping warmth to my very core, but I eventually remembered that such a conclusion was useless in my case because they took turns before that to "...sample the honeycomb..." as Jasper growled into my ears while fumbling my boobs. And Draco had already drawn a map of white on my chest and abdomen before plunging into me minutes earlier when Damon moved to keep my mouth busy and Jasper's tongue was working my delicate n*****s in turns. Only the goddess knew whose seed produced Daisy. That night was one I would never forget in my life. It was a wild night. A very wild and dangerous night. Goddess help me, it had been impossible to get out of bed the following morning because it felt like a truck of timber had run over my bones. When I was attended to by my friend and got out of bed that evening, I crawled my way to the balcony for fresh air and then crawled down the stairs. It was the alcohol, I told myself. But getting drunk didn't make the middle of your thighs sore. And it sure as hell didn't leave you wanting more of what happened the previous night. I was tipsy, but the entire scenes of that night were fresh—even today. "I'd like to go to bed now," I mumbled since we were probably going to continue the staring contest until midnight. "Please leave my property. All of you." Daisy pulled back but didn't run behind me again. She lifted her face and accessed the men before us. It was hard to decipher the little upward curve that graced her lips. It wasn't a smile... was more of a deliberation sign. "What are your names?" The three men moved at the same time, each one reaching out to introduce themselves. "Oh, no, Daisy!" I grabbed her arm and pulled her back. Indulging them was the last plan I had for tonight. I needed me and my daughter in our space again for just four hours or more. That was enough time to pick what was valuable to me and move. Yes, I would be running like a coward instead of giving my daughter the chance of a loving father, but we would be safe. I couldn't stand the thought of any of them taking Daisy away from me. Cause I could see Jasper plotting something along those lines. That vampire male made too many silent calculations that never failed to give me the creeps. "Hey, it's Daddy," Damon smiled, reaching out his right palm to Daisy. My eyes widened. I saw something shift within Daisy. "DAMON, WHAT THE FU—!"
