Relief washes over me. My daughter is safe. But something feels off, though. I can’t put my finger on it, but I will figure it out soon.
While I’m deep in my thoughts, my son Trent storms into my office without knocking. “Dad! What are thinking? Why do I have to be questioned, too? I’m the next alpha, and I can’t be seen being questioned like the rest of the pack. I’m above this. Like you, I shouldn’t be questioned.”
Steam rolls off him as he stops in front of my desk. With determination in his eyes, he leans forward and plants his hands on the edge of my desk. “One word from you and they will stop this nonsense.”
He glares at me, but nothing will put a damper on my joyous mood. Trinity is fine, safe, and healthy.
