“A house built on blood never truly sleeps.”
I. The Pact in Shadows
Salem, 1412. Before the town bore any name on a map, before any church dared plant its steeple in the soil. The forest was deeper. The shadows are thicker. The world… closer to Hell.
In the clearing beneath a blackened moon, twelve figures knelt in a ring. Hooded. Silent. At their center, a shape emerged from swirling smoke: The Devil.
Tall as the pines. Skin black as oil slick. Eyes like suns devouring themselves. His voice was a hush, but every tree leaned closer to hear: “Build me a house of stone and screams, and I will grant you power over this world and the next.”
The first Satanists agreed. And so began the foundation of the Mansion of Endless Night.
II. The Chains of Man
The Satanists couldn’t build alone. They needed thousands of hands. So they descended on nearby villages under the cover of darkness:
· Children stolen from beds, sacks thrown over heads.
· Men shackled together, driven like cattle.
· Women lashed and dragged into wagons.
All brought to the hill where the mansion would rise. The Devil walked among them, whispering into the ears of the Satanists: “Drive them harder. Break their backs. Spill their blood. Their suffering shall bind my house stronger than any stone.”
And so the humans labored:
· Digging trenches so deep the air turned cold.
· Hauling black stones that wept blood at dusk.
· Pouring mortar mixed with ground bone and ash.
Each day dozens fell from exhaustion. The Satanists burned the corpses, feeding the ashes back into the walls.
But the Devil smiled: “Good. The walls remember agony.”
III. Death Among the Stones
The humans began dying faster than they could be replaced. Flesh wasted. Eyes went glassy. Coughs sprayed crimson on the rocks. Yet as each body hit the dirt, strange things happened.
· Blood leaked upward, soaking into stone as if the walls drank it.
· Whispers grew louder, swirling through scaffolding like wind.
· Shadows twisted into human shapes, mouthing silent screams.
The Satanists kept building, ignoring the creeping dread. But the Devil whispered to them: “Every blow of your hammers drives nails into your own coffins.”
IV. The Awakening of the Dead
The night the final stone was laid, the Satanists gathered in the grand hall. The ceiling soared three stories high. Black chandeliers dripped wax like blood. The Devil himself stood at the altar, claws raised.
“This is your kingdom. Rejoice!”
They laughed and wept. But then…
From beneath the floorboards rose a deep pounding. Boom. Boom. Boom.
The Satanists froze. A voice, a thousand voices, wailed up from the cellar:
“YOU BUILT THIS HOUSE WITH OUR LIVES.
NOW IT SHALL FEAST ON YOURS.”
Suddenly:
· Hands clawed through the marble floors, flesh half-rotted, eyes blazing red.
· The corpses of the slaves pulled themselves free, bones snapping back into place.
· Dirt poured off them like water as they stood resurrected.
V. The s*******r in the Mansion
Chaos exploded.
· A Satanist tried to flee. A resurrected woman bit through his throat, teeth scraping bone.
· Another was dragged screaming into the fireplace, flames turning blue as they devoured him.
· One man’s skin peeled away and rewrapped itself as a noose around his neck.
Walls bled. Mirrors reflected screaming faces not present in the room. Chandeliers crashed down, impaling Satanists like insects. The Devil stood back and watched, smiling, as the humans he’d enslaved became his vengeance.
VI. The Devil’s Laughter
When the s*******r ended, the mansion lay silent except for crackling flames and dripping blood. The Devil stepped among the corpses, his hooves leaving trails of black fire.
“Fools. Did you think Hell only punishes the innocent?”
He waved his clawed hand. The mansion repaired itself instantly—stones sliding back into place, blood soaking into the walls like ink into parchment.
And the Devil spoke to the resurrected slaves: “Rest now. For your hatred has made my home eternal.”
One by one, the vengeful dead sank back into the foundation, eyes burning until the last moment. The mansion exhaled a long sigh, like a beast going back to sleep.
VII. The Eternal Curse
From that night on:
· Anyone who entered the mansion heard the faint sounds of hammers and sobs beneath the floors.
· Rooms shifted shape, leading visitors in circles until they went mad.
· Shadows crawled up walls, forming faces that screamed silently.
The mansion stood waiting, a monument to betrayal and blood. And every century, on Halloween, the Devil returned to sit in its grand hall, lifting a goblet of molten gold.
“To my house,” he whispers, “built on screams.”
Closing Line
A mansion built on blood never truly dies. And the Devil never leaves his throne.
