As Caden's convoy moved steadily through the streets, I rested my head against the cold window, letting the reality of the night settle in. My body was exhausted, my mind racing with the weight of what had just happened. Caden sat beside me, his hand resting protectively on mine. He hadn’t said much since we left Kelly’s estate, but his presence was enough to keep me grounded. “Are you okay?” he finally asked, his voice low and gentle. I nodded, though I wasn’t sure if I was telling the truth. “It’s over,” I said softly, more to myself than to him. “For now,” he replied, his tone cautious. “Kelly’s out of the picture, but her allies might not take this lightly. We need to stay vigilant.”
