Save others first
Maya pov.
After, we lay wrapped around each other. Owen's hand tracing lazy patterns on my back. My head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat.
"Be my mate," Owen said softly. "Officially. Tomorrow. Today. Whenever. Just say yes."
"Yes," I whispered. "A thousand times yes."
He kissed the top of my head. "I'll spend the rest of my life making sure you never regret this."
"I could never regret you."
We drifted toward sleep, safe in each other's arms.
But my mind wouldn't quite settle. Too much information. Too many revelations.
"Owen?" I murmured.
"Hmm?"
"Selene Corvain. The Architect. She's not just dangerous because of her genetic sight."
"No?"
"No. She was a Luna. She knows how packs work. How Alphas think. How to manipulate pack law." I sat
