"You're just like her, you know," Owen said quietly.
"Who?"
"Celeste.." He tucked a strand of copper hair behind my ear, his fingers lingering on my cheek. "Brave and stubborn. Refusing to give up even when it would be easier. Fighting for what's right no matter the cost."
My breath caught at his touch. "I have to be. She was my sister."
"Yes she was," Owen corrected gently. "She was your sister."
"Was." I smiled sadly.
"That's why I want to be useful by exposing Victor."
"You are useful. You're the one finding all this evidence. Building the case against Victor. Without you, we'd have nothing."
