Not afraid to die again
Raven Pov.
The reality dawned on us.
"What do you mean, gone?"
"I mean he escaped. Someone left his cell door unlocked. The guards are knocked out. He's disappeared."
The words hit like a physical blow.
Of course. Of course Victor had escaped.
The attack. The arrest. Rowan's distraction. All of it perfectly timed.
Victor had planned this. Let himself be captured. Waited for the perfect moment. Then used Rowan's attack as cover to escape.
"How long ago?" Kieran demanded.
"We don't know. The guards have been unconscious for at least an hour. Maybe more. He could be anywhere by now."
Kieran swore viciously. "Send out search parties. Every direction. Find him before"
"Before what?" I asked. But I already knew the answer.
