Episode 11

CHAPTER 11 Victor's Trap That night, I couldn't sleep. I kept seeing Agnes's body. The staged wounds. The real bruises on her neck. Victor had killed her. I was certain of it. Killed her to cover up the poisoning. To eliminate a witness who could connect him to Kieran's illness. And he'd almost successfully framed me for it. I needed to be smarter. Be more careful. Victor was always three steps ahead. I lay in bed, staring at the ceiling, when a strange feeling washed over me. Like something was slipping away. Fading. Another memory. I tried to grab onto it, tried to hold it in place. But it was like trying to catch smoke. Images flashed through my mind. Kieran's face, younger, nervous. A field of moonblossoms. Him on one knee. The proposal. The day he asked me to be his mate.
