The morning sunlight seeped through the curtains that were not fully closed. The rays of light danced gently on the bedroom walls, creating a warmth that was supposed to be comforting but was not for Adriana. She sat on the edge of the bed, her knees pulled to her chest, arms tightly hugging her legs. Her hair was disheveled, and her eyes were red from a sleepless night.
