Ryan looked at her, his expression unreadable. For a moment, neither of them spoke. The silence was heavy, filled with unspoken emotions and unresolved tension. Finally, Ryan stood, his movements slow and deliberate. “I told you the truth,” he said quietly. “That’s all I can give you right now.” Adriana’s heart sank at his words, but she refused to let him see her pain. “That’s not enough,” she said firmly, her voice trembling despite her best efforts. “Not anymore.” Ryan’s jaw tightened, but he didn’t respond. Instead, he turned and walked toward the door, his footsteps echoing through the empty room. “Where are you going?” Adriana called after him, her voice breaking. He paused, his hand on the doorknob. “I need some air,” he said simply. And then, without another word, he was gone.
