Adriana stared at the unconscious bodies scattered on the ground. Caleb and his followers now lay helpless, surrounded by a fading protective light. “We have to take care of them all,” she said softly but firmly. Her voice held exhaustion, but also determination. “I don’t want them to wake up and attack again. We can’t let our guard down.” Ryan stared at her face for a few seconds before slowly shaking his head. “You don’t need to think about it now, Adriana. Let the guards take care of the rest.” He looked into the shadows of the forest, and as if answering his call, several dark-clad guards emerged from behind the trees, ready and prepared to take over.
