"We are almost there?" Vanessa announced a little too excitedly.
She was the one who was most upset when Kevin moved out. Now, she was acting like a mother excited to visit her child's first home. To think Kevin managed to buy a mansion under my nose should have trampled a little on her enthusiasm.
For me, I just wanted this to be over with. Kevin mentioned he had big news. Hence, the reason for the last minute dinner party. Who knew what was going on in that guy's head? He was a mystery, who reveled in leaving everyone's curiosity.
"You have to at least show that you care," Vanessa said. "The others are going to pick up that something is wrong. Kevin says he has news. If you keep that face up, you're going to drag down the night for everyone." I didn't answer, so she continued chatting
