We watched Javian leave the room. Vanessa hurried after him.
Vincent poured himself more wine. "Well, that went as expected."
Kevin hissed and pushed away his chair. He stormed off.
I returned to my meal. I was not sure which emotion ran through my veins. Kevin had taken this too far. Marriage. Why the hell would I marry him? And, to know he announced it just like that without telling me. He was beyond crazy. I was giving him too much rope. If I had been a bit more strict, this would not have happened.
Then there was Javian. We all knew why he was upset. All the additional drama in his life plus this shocking news was bound to cause a blow-up. It was not like he cared much about me as a family. It all had to do with the fact that this was unexpected. He didn't know about it beforehand.
