Frances FrancesDinner was a nice gesture from Ivy’s parents but I could tell it wasn’t our scene. Ivy was tense the entire way and what I hoped would be a romantic date turned out as something we had to wrestle through. I tried not to take it personally but I was a little deflated as we left the restaurant. If I hadn’t agreed to the Christmas market earlier, I might’ve suggested we just go home. I wanted to get a good night’s sleep before the long anticipated Christmas dinner. “Oh, it’s a lovely crisp night,” Ivy commented as we continued to the village. “I can already smell the waffles and spices.
