Everyone held their breath as she walked her way to the front of the room. This was the ceremony of a lifetime. Was she going to be the first Luna to rule the pack without an alpha mate? Everyone watched her as she continued to walk through the room. Once she got to the front of the room, she sat down in the Lunas seat. This is when everyone waited for this to be a change in history. A Luna was always supposed to have an alpha mate. Never did the alpha need his Luna at the ceremony.
Everyone looked at her in astonishment as she sat there like she wasn’t out of place. She stared at them and asked.
“Now that everyone is here let’s start shall we.”
One of the counselors spoke up and said” “Um shouldn’t we wait.”
The Luna said, “what for what the alpha” * she let out a small laugh* “there isn’t one so if we wait then we will all stay here till we die.”
The counselor cleared his throat and said, “well why is there no alpha you as a woman can’t rule the pack but yourself.”
The Luna laughs once more and leans forward in her chair and said, “I for one do now see why you would want to say that I am the born Luna not married in so I suggest you either listen to what I have to say, or you can get up and leave because you think a woman is not fit to rule by herself.” She stares at him until he breaks and gets up and leaves. The Luna leans back in her chair and sighs.
“Now would anyone else want to leave or do you think you can help me change the rules slightly.”
Everyone nods their heads, and they start the meeting.
“So, what are we even here for its not like you can change anything so why are we here like you can do anything.” says a female pack member. I sigh and shake my head hanging it low for a moment. I look back up and speak
“I am sorry do you want to leave or are you willing to try and change the pack rules.” she looks down and whispers
“I just don’t think anyone else will take a woman leader seriously.” I look directly at her and say in a low growl “and why would you believe something you have never tried.”
She looks up at me and says “I am sorry ali...”
I stop her and say, “who said you could use my name you aren't one of my friends or family you are simply here to help make decisions for the pack if you think you are incapable of doing that then you too can leave.”
The girl stayed in the chair, and I said “oh so you want to help then I better not here hear you say anything to get yourself out.
We finished the meeting, and I walked out to see the sun going down. I knew today was the start of the full moon. I walked out of the pack house and saw the youngest of the pack members. I say the youngest because this will be their first time shifting. Tonight, everyone is going to be shifting whether they want to or not. Since this happens every month, we have a few half human half wolf hybrids to watch the non-shifters. I walked into another house, and I was home. It is a lot of hard work being the only Luna without her mate. My sister walks up to me and asks.
“So how was it Aliah did everyone have a problem with you not having an alpha by your side.”
I slightly laugh and say “no there were a few but I don’t think I have a mate I mean I have never felt the klick most people get so, and I don’t feel pulled to anyone, but I don’t know if it's possible for me to not have a mate. Plus, what if I can't have some of my own kids because of not having a mate.”
“Hey maybe your mate isn't a guy I do remember you having a crush on a few girls in high school and junior high. Maybe your mate is a female.” my sister says.
I shake my head at her comment and hear our parents walk through the door. They come and sit down with use and we all just kind of sit in silence.
