I wasn’t completely sure how long I had been unconscious, but it felt like several days when I finally managed to pry my eyes open. They felt heavy, swollen even, as I tried to keep them open to take in my surroundings. It seemed I was still in my cell, at least, and he wasn’t there, thankfully.
