“Evelyn?” I whispered, as she reluctantly released her tight grip around my neck. I hadn’t seen her for a very long time and even though she had changed a lot, she still looked just like herself.
“So, you do recognize me?” She laughed, flashing her pearly white teeth at me with a playful grin. Instantly, all the stress I felt in my body vanished into thin air. Her smile always had this effect on me.
“I would recognize you anywhere, Evelyn. Don’t be foolish.” I retorted, placing a tender kiss on her forehead and I felt her wrap her arms around my waist as she rested her head on my chest.
