An Accident

Akira Ishikawa's POV The next morning on my third day living in the impressive estate of Kaito Ishikawa, I decided to tour myself outside. I've always been an outdoor kind of a woman and I don't want to confine inside that stiff palace. "Well, well, well." I heard an accented voice of an eld early man drawled behind me. "What a pleasant surprise to see the Princess grace us with her presence." I turned around to see the man who just spoke. My gaze automatically greeted by the delight in his elderly face while he's holding the rein of a black Arabian Stallion. I smiled at him pleasantly. "It seems that you have the advantage of knowing me while I have no idea about you, sir." He grinned at me, as he removed his Stetson at the top of his head and playfully bowed in my direction. "Aoi Kitamura, at you service, Your Excellency." "Nice to meet you," I extended my hand in his path. "Akira Satou. What a nice beast you have, Aoi. I want to ride him." "You cannot ride that stallion." Said by the booming voice that joined our conversation, a pair of gold eyes glared darkly in my direction. "You are pregnant remember? Do you want to risk the safety of our child just because of your recklessness?" It was my turnbto glare back at him. "I said I want to ride him. I didn't say that I will ride him. Do you think I would want to risk the safety of my child?" "Our child," He corrected me firmly in front of his employee. "Don't you forget that, Akira. That's our child." "Er." Aoi made a fake cough. "I think I should exercise Thunder first at the corral before you ride him, sir." I smiled sweetly at the elderly man before focusing my dark look at this tyrant man who was legally my husband. "You don't need to do that, Aoi. The oxygen here suddenly stinks for my liking. I will go now." "Where do you think you're going?" He asked as I started to move away from his gruesome company. I threw him a foul look over my shoulder as I move back inside the house. Just two minutes of his company was enough to ruin my day instantly. The safest way I could do was to avoid him as much as I can do so that I would not look ten years older than my actual age. "Away from you!" I puffed an angry breath as I marched back to the foyer of the castle. I don't know what I ever saw in him that made me agree to have an affair with him. 'It must have been his looks and his body that made you captivated', an evil voice answered inside my head. 'Or perhaps his skills in the bedroom that made you a prisoner in his bed for months?' Okay, fine. You don't have to enumerate whatever I saw to that arrogant Prince. I told the voice inside my head. People probably thought that I'm such a crazy person for having an argument to the annoying voice inside my head right now but I don't care. That's right, I concluded silently. I would just avoid his company. Breakfast and dinner were the only time I could endure his horrible presence. Kaito Ishikawa's POV I stared at the retreating form of the maddening woman walking far away from me. Why is a simple conversation with her would surely turn into an argument? It wasn't like that before. When we were still in a relationship months ago, I liked having conversation with her. She's so much fun to talk to, so what happend now? "She's difficult." I unknowingly muttered out loud the thought inside my head that made my foreman stared at me with such amusement in his dark eyes. "Women are always difficult to understand, son. And this woman just happened to be your wife." I shook my head in resignation, looking at the last trace of the angry woman who disappeared in the foyer. "Women I knew before wasn't that hard to understand." A rueful smile fitted in the foreman's face. "Those women were eager to please you, Your Excellency. That woman over there is your wife, she's way above than the women you have associated in the past." I sighed heavily. "I know that." "You do?" Aoi chuckled, as he pat affectionately my favorite horse. "Then as a husband, you should do everything to please your wife. Win back her affection towards you. I believe the result would be satisfying, son." I stared helplessly to this man in front of me. "Can't you see, Kitamura? She hates me. She couldn't bear to be in the same company with me for more than a few minutes." "That's why you need to win her heart, son." Aoi said wisely, I don't think that I will ever understand his advice. "I think she felt that she's trap in your marriage that you only wed her because of the baby. You have to show her that you want her to be your wife, with baby or not." "My wife is a thorny woman." I answered as I mount my stallion with efficiency. "She has more spikes than a cactus plant." "So you're just going to let her drift away from you even more?" The elderly man asked with unreadable eyes. I hate it when he has this look in his face. I stared deep in his eyes unblinking. I know that the time would come and my wife would turn soft again towards me. If I would just bid my time and wait when she finally accepted the fact that I would never release her from this marriage. "I didn't say that." "I'll give an advice, son." Aoi said with a twitching grinned on his leathery face. "If she avoided your presence like plague then why don't you tie her with you to make sure that for every hours of the day she's beside you. I'm sure you will like the result." He wiggled his eyebrows towards me as he placed his Stetsons back to his head. "Beneath those thorns you said she had, there's always a door to her heart." "Thank you for the advice." I looked down grimly in his direction. I was about to set my horse to move when he stop the reign of my stallion. "You're going to ride in that state of your mind?" He shook his head. "I wouldn't recommend you to ride if there's so much in your mind right now, Kaito." "I'm fine." I smiled at him and urged my steed to move forward and have a ride in the estate. I heard the foreman called after me but I didn't look back at him. Right now, I want to clear my head and think my next move towards my relationship with my handful wife. Riding usually give me peace and help me to think of a better solution with my problems. After a few minutes of riding while on the deep thought, something spook my stallion that him surprise and threw me out of his back... I cursed loudly when I felt pain all over my body a distinctive twinge on my feet.. Akira Ishikawa's POV I was reclining on my bed reading a novel while listening to music in my new phone when Shizuka barge in my room looking somewhat pale. "Akira." I looked up from the bed and stared at her. "What?" asked, she answered me but I couldn't hear it due to the loud music. "What?" I asked again as I removed the earpods from my ears. "Kaito.." She said frantically. "He took a fall from his horse. He sprained his right arm and ankle and now he is in his room." "What?" I leaped out of my bed and my heart nearly stopped from beating. That man just what kind of exhibition he's playing with that beast awhile ago? "Oh, I'm so scared I thought that I'm going to lose another brother to a tragic accident." Shizuka couldn't help it anymore and she burst in to tears. I hugged her and try to soothe her. "Shhh." I said calmly while I myself was so worried about that dratted man. "Your brother will be fine. I know that he's a strong man." "Yes, I know." She wiped her tears and smile bravely in my direction. "I don't want you to be stressed so much that's why I informed you about his accident after the doctor reassured that he's now fine and just need a lot of rest. But he kept on asking you." I smiled at her. "All right, I will see him now." "Just don't so hard on him, okay?" Shizuka asked pleadingly as she stared in my eyes. "I know that you two still have this fragile relationship in your marriage but--" "Don't worry about it." I informed her with a smile. Shizuka and I went out of my room. As much as she wants to check her brother's health she walked back to her room and let me be alone with Kaito. She wanted to give us space to sincerely talk to each other. I knocked slightly to his door. "Kaito?" I peeked inside his bedroom and slowly entered. My heart lurched at his sight. I stood beside his bed and study his sleeping from. "What did you do?" I asked softly. "You like seeing me crazily worried about you, don't you? You know..." I slowly touch his hair. "You are a bad influence to my heart, Kaito Ishikawa. You are the only man that could make my heart tremble and I hate you for that. But how can I escape you now that we created a child together." I smiled to myself as I shook my head. I'm really crazy. I thought silently. I kissed his forehead and tiptoed out of his bedroom. I will just come back later. A few hours later after forcing myself to be busy inside my room while waiting for him to be awake. I have enough maybe he's finally awake now. So I went out of my room and walked towards his bedroom that's just across to mine. I didn't knocked just in case he's still napping. But I didn't expect the conversation I'm hearing inside his bedroom once I slowly opened the door. Kaito reclined on the massive bed while the widow kneels besides his bed crying. "Why did you marry her, Kaito? Why? You know that I'm finally free to remarry again. You know I'm the perfect wife for you." This bitch... I decided to eavesdrop more to their conversation before making myself known. I saw Maeko held Kaito's left hand to hers while crying. "I sorely regret that I married your brother I should have waited for you." "Maeko." "She's unfit to be your Princess." She announced again with her eyes focus in his face. "She's so unruly, untamed and--" I saw Leandro shook his head in resignation. "Even if you didn't marry Shiro and have waited for me. I would still not marry you. I'm sorry but I cannot see you as my wife." "But you loved me before!" The widow exploded. He shook his head again this time with an apologetic look in his face. "I never loved any woman before, Maeko. I just took women for granted that I thought it was my right to discarded them like an old socks when I'm tired with them. Now I've been punished for that arrogance, fate gave me the only woman who could put me on my place and that woman is my wife." "No!" The maddening woman contradicted, leaning to Kaito's face for a kiss. "I will show you that the only woman you want is me." That's it, I thought fumingly. I have enough of their teary eyed conversation. I decided that it was time for them to know that there's another person listening to them. So I knocked loud enough to know that I'm here. I smiled pleasantly in their stunned faces when deep inside me I want to do something violent that would shock them even more. "It seems that the wife is not needed here." I announced calmly, as I tucked my hands in the middle of my chest. I don't know if this gesture could prevent me from killing them both. "Shizzy told me that you're asking for me. I guess she got it wrong since you are occupied on a dramatic scene with your sister in law, darling. So I will not disturb the two of you. Goodbye." I was about to closed the door firmly behind me when I heard Kaito's booming voiced. "Akira! Come back here." I raised an eyebrow in his direction. "Darling, you don't need me here." I nodded at the widow who stood immobile in her place. “There's your sister in law who's already looking after you." "If you don't come here in this instant." He warned heatedly, as he started to move away from the bed. I couldn't miss the way he winced when he tried to move. "I will stand in this bed and come after you, Akira Ishikawa." Something moved inside my heart when he said my name. It was the first time I heard my new married name. I don't know if I like the feeling. I looked at the widow as I moved inside the master's bedroom. "You can leave now. I will look after my husband from now on, Maeko." One wrong move from her and blood will drench in this room. If I were this widow I wouldn't gamble my luck with fate. Because If I ever lost my patience in here, even fate couldn't save her from my wrath.
