Chapter 1-Introducing Katie Strano

It was 9 in the morning when Katie arrived at her job in the city. She worked as a waitress at a Hooters on the corner of Main Street. When she wasn't working at Hooters, she worked as a waitress at a bar called Cherry Popper's. She hated her jobs especially at the bar. She was always hit on by creepy old men. It sucked but the tips were nice from both places. Dropping out of high school was the worst decision she ever made, but her parents honestly didn't care. She basically lived on her own but in her parents house. They were always on a business trip so it left her to fend for herself. It taught her very valuable lessons but it also hurt her. It made her feel like they didn't care about her. Which she was pretty sure they didn't

Katie clocked in at Hooters and walked to the back. She didn't have to change since she was already wearing their revealing uniform. She went to her assigned locker and unlocked the door to put her stuff in it. Locking the door Katie turned around and walked through the door running into someone. She looked at them and smiled. It was her friend Cameron. Cameron and her had been friends since diapers. They did everything together. When Katie got this job, Cameron applied as well. Cameron naturally got the job and even got to work the front and bring customers to tables while Katie took care of the customers.

"I didn't know you were working today Cam. I thought you had school?" Katie asks her while hugging her. "Well I started doing online schooling because I wasn't learning very much in school and I am taking AP courses online now so I am learning a bunch more than in school. I can even schedule my own hours for school! It's great for people who have a job!" Katie smiled at Cameron. She was happy that her friend was having a successful life.

She went out to the diner and goes to where the manager is because they always have a morning meeting to determine where people will work during the day. She was working in the back half of the restaurant today which she didn't mind. It meant less tips but if she was lucky she would get some of the regulars who tip well.

She went to her station and cleaned some of the tables before they opened the doors. She heard clammoring from the customers who were usually friends with each other. She saw Cameron, who worked the front of the restaurant, bring back one of the regulars. She didn't recognizing him so he must be a new regular. She made sure he had a menu and waited 10 minutes before going over to his table.

"Hey darling! Can I get you started with something?" She asks him, smiling sweetly. He looked at her up and down before smirking. "I could use a piece of you sweetie." He said with a smirk. She now knew why they sent him to the back. He was the customer that has hit on most of the girls in the restaurant except her. Now she had to deal with him. 'But it's only for today. I can do it.' She reminded herself.

She faked a smile. "What can I get you that is on the menu sir?" She asks him sweetly. He ordered a chocolate milkshake and large fries. She wrote it down and went into the kitchen to give it to the chefs. Katie then went around and collected more orders for 15 minutes which, the entire time, she could feel someone staring at her. She went into the kitchen and saw that the first customer's order was done. She put it on a tray and took it out to him. She smiled at him. "Here you go sir." She said placing it on the table. She turned around going into the back getting more orders. She took the all out to their respected customers.

~Hours later~

She was counting the drawer in the back and locking up. It wasn't late yet but she had to get to her other job as soon as possible. She hurried up counting the drawer before going in the back and grabbing her stuff. She put on her other jobs attire which was a white button-up top with a black mini skirt and heels. She had nude heels with her today but usually she wears her black combat boots that have a heel on them. She then walked out the door and shut the door locking it. She got in her car and locked the car door behind her. She then started the car driving to the bar as she listened to music and singing. She reached the bar and got out of her car, grabbing her bag that had her necessities in it. She closed the door and locked the door before heading into the bar. She got this feeling that someone was watching her but all the cars around her were empty. Although, there was a car with tinted windows so she couldn't see inside it. She ignored this feeling and went inside the bar.

She went into the back and put her stuff down in her cubby before walking out to where the bar is. She walked over to the manager and asked where she would be working that night. She was told she had the whole floor because her friend Kayla wasn't there. Kayla must be sick because she never misses work. She took her note book and went around to tables and got orders from people and served drinks at the bar. She then would take them out and take them to the customers.

All the customers were the same except for one. He was a ginger so that made him more noticeable but other than that he was very nice to her from what she knows about him. She went over to his table and smiled. "Hi! Is there anything I can get you tonight?" She asks him smiling.
