Emily’s POV
We can just hope and pray for our future but we don’t know what God has stored for us. Same is in my case. I always dreamt of a full of love marriage with a lot of love and happiness. Then having a lot of babies with him. I have already expected that my future husband will help me, in fulfilling my dreams to become a successful author but here the person sitting beside me, my so dear husband is worthless. I can’t even expect such a thing from him.
My husband is just opposite to what I have dreamt throughout my life. He is cold person who has purchased me from one hell to other.
Yes, finally we are married. It was a very simple marriage with very little drama. Liam arrived with his family in a BMW to the house one hour late. I have planned our marriage in backyard of our home. Then all the rituals were in a rush. There was no crying seen as my uncle and aunty were happy that a burden called Emily was lifted from their shoulder. The only good thing in this marriage was Grandma, Drew and Laura who were there for my moral boosters.
After our marriage Liam took me to the Knight’s hotel where our small reception party was being planned. A lot of paparazzi were waiting for us at the gate of hotel to have a glimpse of me but Liam’s guard came to the rescue as soon as I stepped out of the car blocking their view. He just gave a blank look to the media while still holding me.
“I don’t know why Grandma has planned this? Why has she called all my partners to show my so called wife? But one thing I am sure they should not know about our deal. Tie this in your little brain Emily. I don’t want any insult here. Just smile” he whispered this warning in my ears when we had entered our car. Following his warning I plastered a fake smile on my face.
We enter the hall where Liam does not reply to any questions from the media except telling them that ‘we will be leaving for our honeymoon same day only’ and when I asked about his statement he rudely said ‘I don’t have time for all this. He has just played honeymoon card to distract the media from us.’
We spent nearly an hour meeting all our guests before Liam pulled me out of the party hall before anyone can protest.
I glimpse at my husband who is again busy with his mobile. Good for me that villain is busy with his mobile. This time we are going toward his mansion after our party much to my discomfort. I wanted to spend some more time in the house after our marriage where I have spent a large part of my life but Liam pulled me in front of everyone towards the car. For all it was his eagerness to take his wife so that he can go home early, but for me, it was his way of t*****e. I look at my hand which still has red marks left behind due to his harsh pull.
“Here we are at home. Make yourself comfortable here for few days then we will fly to London.” He got extremely close to me that for one second I felt like he was going to kiss me.
“Why are you afraid Mili? You are my wife and I have right to kiss you. You will be all mine tonight.” He smirks and pushes me out of his car after opening my car door.
“One more thing. I have some important meeting so I will be late, make some excuse to Grandma about me absent.” he orders. “I know you are an expert in speaking lies.” He sarcastically remarks. How can he just claim that I am a liar?
Before I can give him a fitting reply the car moves out from front of me and I look at the dust which is left behind. He just left his bride standing at the front door of the house. How irresponsible!
Pulling my long skirt a little up I make my way toward the main gate to enter the house after passing through the drive way, I climb the stairs and took a long breath. Finally I reach the gate and push it.
What the hell! This gate is locked. Oh Teri, everyone was at our wedding that’s why the main gate is locked. That arrogant jerk left me here all alone with a locked house.
Tired from the whole day happening, this marriage, I walk up to the gate and struggle to open it. I sit down in front of the stairs burying my face in my hands. I just hope someone arrives soon and opens the house for me as this scorching heat is killing me. I keep looking at the door hoping someone to show up. I don’t know when waiting for someone I fell asleep.
“Emily. Emily wake up.” I slowly open my eyes adjusting to the light and look at the source of its voice. It’s Grandma. What is Grandma doing here? That is when reality hits me. I am sitting at the stairs and finally Grandma has arrived. I give Grandma a weak smile and stand on my feet. Grandma didn’t ask me anything about Liam. Who can know him more than her?
Grandma welcomes me inside the mansion and I make myself comfortable on the couch. A maid serves me lemonade which is the thing I eagerly need this time.
“I know my Liam. He doesn’t like you and feels this marriage is a burden.” Grandma smiles lightly and places her wrinkled hand on my hands. “But it’s not his mistake. He just hates girls and marriage. He has seen so much betrayal in his life.” I can feel the pain in her voice. “You know Liam has come to New York after six month still his parents haven’t come to meet him and today on his marriage his mother is in Russia doing business and his father is God knows where. They never care for Liam and their own marriage. We met a girl six month back hoping that she will be light in our family but she took our everything away. After her Liam lost his everything. He started to hate girls he started to despise them.” Grandma pulls me into her hug and silently cries on my shoulder.
“I know you are the one who will love him and one who can bring my old Liam back who was so positive and had a big heart to share his love with others. I know he will take all his pain and frustration out on you, but be with him always. You will find the diamond from him. Liam is a diamond but he just needs some light to shine Emily and you are that light. I hope you will get me my Liam back.” Grandma says with hopeful eyes and who am I to say no to such hopeful eyes.
“I promise Grandma. I will bear all his tortures and will find his pure heart. You will soon get your old Liam.” I smile a little toward the old Lady.
It’s my promise Grandma I will try my best to make this marriage work and to find your old Liam back.
