December 2019: India, Bengaluru “ISARAA!! We are going to miss the school bus if you don’t finish your breakfast quickly.” Her deafening voice came from the kitchen to reach the son who is engrossed in an UKG book. Without getting any reply, dropping whatever work she was doing, peeked at her son.  The small 1BHK rent house in a moderately famous area in which they are living allowed the complete view of living room from kitchen or bedroom, which helped her to keep an eye on him easily. Signing dramatically at after knowing what her son is up to yet again her son, she asked a question even though knowing his answer.  “What are you doing?”, “Reading” Came his ever famous dry reply without even sparing her a look. “That, I can see! Why are you reading again?! I mean, you already revised it like n times baby!” She asked with raised eyebrows. Lifting his head with a curious and confusion look on his small face with a frown, he asked her the most important question his tiny mind wanted to find the answers to. “ What is revise and n time, mom? Is it a number?” Growing up, he was always been a curious, obedient kid and talks very less and only when necessary. She was very worried when he used to talk less and make no move in making friends unless they come to him themselves.  But after finding out from her colleagues, that he will be alright once he grows up and silent kids tend to be more intelligent, her worries came to an end.   And that theory was proved to be right, he learns everything quickly, learned talking very quickly and his pronunciation is better than his age kids. Always obeying her words without asking for more, because his little mind knows that-after seeing their neighborhood aunties asking their money back from her- his mother is struggling to get him everything he needed. He never asks for his father, after knowing he is very far from them fighting monsters like superhero. But his friends don’t believe it, and he doesn’t care about them either. He knows that his mom never lies to him. She is his hero, he is very protective of her and dislikes if she praises kids in her classes if they do good in exams or tests. He hates to share her affection and attention with other living beings. Since she is working as a math teacher in RMV School, she was able to join him in nursery with very less fee. He started to learn alphabets, numbers and all the rhymes quickly to impress her and show her he is better than those big kids in her class which lead him to UKG within 6 months of nursery. He is favorite student of all the teachers including principle. That is the reason he wanted to win this quiz conducting in their school for its 25th school anniversary and win price. Knowing him and his ever so curious nature since he started to speak, she simply took the bowl on a chair and started to explain, mean while feeding him.  “Revise meaning, rereading same thing to make sure you remember accurately. n times means, if you don’t know how many times or don’t remember the number of times then you use it. And now if you are done with your revisions n times then get up wash your mouth and take your bag if you don’t want to miss the quiz”.  Nodding understandingly to all the explanation and obeying her words obediently like always, he took the last bite of roti before sprinting to washroom. *** RMV SCHOOL: Indiranagar; Bengaluru. “Do well in quiz and eat lunch with your friends okay?”Dropping him at UKG classroom and kissing his both chubby cheeks she fondly instructed her son before making her way to the staff room.   Once she settled in her desk after noting her duties and classes for the day from principle’s assistant, greeting few of her colleagues in corridor and neglecting their comments- like same plain, boring, and too old, shaded clothes even for the function- on her blue salwar clothing.
