Attack

903 Words
Rowan closed the back door of the car and moved to the front seat. He adjusted the soundproof system and checked the locks once again. The car was bulletproof, with dark tinted glasses. From outside, no one could see Sadhana. From inside, she could see nothing but her own reflection on the glass. Security surrounded the car completely. The engine stayed on, but the car didn't move. Silence filled the space around her. She couldn't hear the chaos outside, only her own breathing. Tension wrapped around her chest. Fear crept in slowly. Outside the car, Grayson stood like a storm. His hands were extended, each holding a gun. His face showed no emotion. No hesitation. No mercy. He wasn't the man Sadhana had seen inside the office. He wasn't the broken child looking for his mother. He was something else-dark, ruthless, deadly. Shots rang out continuously. Men fell one after another. Dwijesh attacked from the other side, his actions cold and practiced. The security team followed their lead, eliminating the attackers and dragging the bodies away from sight. Blood stained the ground. Everything felt disturbingly routine,. It took forty minutes to end it all. When it was over, Grayson stood still for a moment. Blood covered his face-not his own, but enough to make him look terrifying. His chest rose and fell slowly. His mind wasn't on the dead men. It was on Sadhana. He didn't want her to see this side of him. He didn't want her to know what he was capable of. The thought of her leaving because of this made something snap inside him. Rowan handled everything with calm. Calls were made. Instructions were given. The legal team and police were informed. With the Smith brothers, nothing stayed hidden-but nothing ever came back to them either. Rowan made it clear to everyone: tomorrow's news would not carry even a single line about this incident. Grayson went straight to the penthouse and changed his clothes after taking the bath. The cars finally started moving. Sadhana sat alone in her car. Grayson, Rowan, and Dwijesh were in another, surrounded by six security vehicles. Sadhana mind stayed stuck on the sound she had heard earlier-the gunshot. Her heart kept asking the same questions again and again. Is Gray safe? Is Rowan safe? Five minutes after the cars started moving, her phone rang. Grayson. She answered immediately. "Sir... what happened?" Her voice shook with panic. "Everyone is safe, right? You... Rowan..." She couldn't finish the sentence in one breath. Grayson closed his eyes for a second. His anger was still burning-not at her, but at the men who dared to attack in front of her. He had already decided that none of them would survive the next twenty-four hours. His mother-his mum-was scared on the day she got married. She hadn't eaten since yesterday. Instead of happiness, fear surrounded her. "Sir... are you okay?" Grayson came back to his senses. Just one word from him corrected everything. "Mum." She immediately realized her mistake. "Gray... are you both fine?" "Yes, Mum. Nothing happened," Grayson said calmly. "It was just a transformer blast. No one got injured. Even we thought it was gunfire at first, but it was only the transformer explosion. Because of that, there was a power outage at the office. We handled it. That's why everything got delayed. I'm sorry you were delayed from eating." "It's okay, Gray. I am fine," she replied softly. "Thank God nothing happened to anyone." Grayson could hear the fear hiding beneath her words. Without saying anything more, he passed the call to Rowan. "Hey, princess," Rowan said gently. "Sir... I thought it was gunfire," she broke down, crying. Her voice shattered mid-sentence. Rowan immediately signaled the drivers. All the cars stopped by the roadside. Gray and Rowan stepped out and rushed to Sadhana's car. They opened the doors from both sides and made her sit between them. Once they were inside, the cars started moving again. Both brothers looked at her face, tears pooling in her eyes. They froze for two seconds. Rowan noticed the darkness and deep concern burning in Gray's eyes. With a small smile, Rowan spoke, trying to lighten the moment. "Princess, even gunshot sounds are very normal here." "You're crying for a transformer blast sound." She lifted her face and looked at him. "I am not scared of the sound," she said softly. "I thought you both were in danger." Those words broke something inside Rowan. He hugged her tightly and rested her head on his shoulder. Almost immediately, Gray leaned closer and rested his head on Sadhana's lap. She instinctively ran her fingers through his hair, slow and gentle. No one could tell this was the same man who had killed mercilessly just an hour ago. The car traveled for nearly two hours before reaching the mansion. Both Gray and Sadhana fell into deep sleep. Sadhana's head rested on Rowan's shoulder. Gray's head rested on Sadhana's lap. When the car stopped, Gray woke up after a few minutes. Sadhana didn't. Rowan carefully lifted her into his arms and carried her to his room. He removed her sandals and placed her gently on the bed. Meanwhile, Gray brought a glass of warm milk. Even in her deep sleep, Rowan helped her drink it slowly. He tucked her in properly, made sure she was comfortable, and then quietly walked out of the room.
