"Hey, mom!" I greeted my mother as soon as I entered her room, and then I sat down on the single seater couch and put all the food on her desk.
"You seem happy, Cassie. Something happened in your work?" Mom asked.
I glanced at her and said, "Nothing happened. I'm just happy to see you and also I'm happy because my boss lets me visit you often. So, I don't need to worry whenever that man visits you secretly since nobody tells me that he's been visiting you secretly."
Mom winced and answered, "We already talk about this, aren't we? I thought you're giving him another chance, but based on your voice you don't have any plan giving your father another chance, Cassie."
"I agree to give him another chance but we never talked about letting him become part of our lives again."
