I should be sleeping.
But I could not fall asleep, no matter how hard I tried. My nutritionist had come by and made me a warm meal, and a filling, queen breakfast to replenish the energy I must have “lost” staying up all night at Dolphin hospital.
I was upset at how I had acted out of my place, following Rodri to the hospital and staying by his side all night as if I had any importance to him, or his family.
I was literally a stranger.
But I could not explain the kind of possessiveness and worry that had struck me when I saw him be so vulnerable, for the first time.
