Three Cheers for Annie

1146 Words
When the final bell rang, Aurora gathered her stuff and met up with Annie in the hallway. “Where have you been? I was so worried about you, I even texted you. Did you not get my message?” Aurora said to Annie, but Annie was too busy and distracted with everybody and handing out her invitations to really care as to what Aurora was saying. Aurora repeated to herself, “Annie, did you not get any of my messages, what's going on with you? I was so worried, are you feeling okay?” Annie stopped and turned to look at Aurora. “I’m feeling perfectly fine. I've just decided that, well… This week is going to be my week. And I'm going to spend it how I want to. Not to mention, you would not believe who talked to me this weekend after you went home. And sent me the cutest email and who now wants to be my date to my party!” Annie said, hopping up-and-down gleefully. “Who” I asked, already guessing that Annie had to of been talking about Declan Sharp. “It was Declan! He sent me this amazing email. Talking about how he’s always had a thing for me and wants me to save him a dance, I told him that I would, of course, save him a dance. Then the next thing I know, he is my date! Can you believe it?” Annie said with big wide eyes? She was the happiest Aurora had seen her in a long time. “I'm very happy for you, Annie. That's really exciting. I saw him in homeroom today. I was surprised I didn't see you there sniffing his hair!” Aurora said to Annie jokingly. “Oh, my gosh, stop. I would never!” she said, giggling and getting embarrassed. The hallway was now empty as everyone was off on their way home. "Only four more days and then it's time,” Annie said, looking at Aurora. “By this time next week. Who knows? Maybe Declan will be my mate and everyone will be going on about how I threw the most epic wolf party of the millennium! Then, hopefully all these crazy dreams I have of Declan will start to calm down,” Annie said before she slammed her locker closed and started skipping down the hall. Aurora let out a nice sigh before following Annie. Aurora wanted to ask Annie more about her dreams that she had been having with Declan but wasn't sure how to bring it up without bringing up her dreams with Charles. They began walking home, splitting up at the street where they went their separate ways towards their homes. The rest of the week was pretty much the same. Annie was not at school very much and would show up very sporadically, showing off her latest new outfit and talking about all the cool things that would be happening at her party. That's all anyone talked about that week. Declan just so happened to miss a few classes as well, not that anyone would notice the coincidence other than Aurora. Once a member of the pack transitioned for the first time, it was often that they would leave early, especially if they were to have found their mate. Most new wolves that were lucky to find their mates right away spent most of their time "mating" with their other half. And with it being a part of life in the Onyx pack, no one ever batted an eye at the unfinished education that many of the members of the pack had. That was a big part as to why Aurora wanted to attend university. That Friday, Annie was at school for the whole day. Of course, she would be. Aurora just loved how much Annie enjoyed attention and would put herself on display for others to cheer her on or whistle at her. Whereas Aurora was not that way in the slightest. During their final class of the day, the girls sat in the back, talking about nothing other than the party. They both had their outfits picked out and ready, hanging up in their closets for the special day. Annie made sure that Aurora picked something out that complimented her body and the color of her hair and skin tone. Annie would always tell Aurora that with her red hair and olive skin, purple, red, greens and yellows always looked the best. So Aurora went with a deep satin red dress. The dress complimented not only her hair, but also her skin tone and her green eyes. Even Aurora was excited to dress up for the night ahead of them, since she didn't do it often. Saturday couldn't come fast enough. “So after school you're coming to my house, right? I will be having my first change at midnight. It will be exciting, and I would only hope my best friend will be there in support of me,” Annie said. “Of course, I'll be there,” Aurora answered. “You know, I wouldn't miss it for the world.” The final bell of the day rang. You could hear the students cheering. Everyone knew what was ahead that weekend. While trying to leave school, everybody kept turning to Annie, saying things like ‘see you Saturday’ and ‘see you later’. It was nonstop. Aurora couldn't handle how many eyes were on them as they were walking out to head towards Annie's house. This weekend, Aurora will be staying with Annie again for her first transformation and for her birthday party. Aurora was sure that Annie preferred it that way, since Aurora's house was much smaller than Annie's and Annie always had someone home to do what she needed to be done at her beck and call. It must be nice having maids and chefs. Her mom definitely spoiled her. By the time the girls made it through the crowd on their way out and got on their way home to Annie's house, Aurora was exhausted. Annie turned to Aurora and let out a huge sigh. “Wow, I thought we were never going to get out of there in a good enough time for us to get home for our facials and manicures!” Annie turned forward, looking away from Aurora. "Tonight. Aurora, we're going to get pampered. I want to feel great and look great. Not just for my coming out. But for my party, you know? You're going to love it, and you're going to thank me after!” Aurora knew just how much Annie loved makeovers. Anything to do with hair and nails. Makeup made Annie happy. Aurora was more of a kickback and watch movies kind of girl, but still enjoyed doing those things on occasion, even more so with Annie.
