Clara Morning light filters softly through the curtains of my room. For a few seconds after waking, I simply lay here staring at the ceiling, trying to remember where I was. Then my body reminds me. Every muscle aches. Not the dull softness after a workout—this was deeper. My bones feel heavy, my joints feel stiff, and my skin tingles in strange places like something beneath it had only recently settled back into place. I groan quietly and shift on the mattress.
